  • FUCK MESA BUY PEAVEY MESA DISTORTION ALMOST SOUND FAKE

  • @1976Stratomaster peavey ! get real mate !

  • Monkey wrench! Love the amp!

  • How much does sound change by changing bottom 4x12 cabinet speakers to for example between Mesa and Marshall? Huge tone difference is Head correct?

  • Amp shopping on Youtube is pointless. Go to your local shop and demo stuff.

  • I can get it for a very good price and yet Im scared coz all demos here sound shit like this one

  • Comment removed

  • you can't freaking play worth crap...so sloppy...and timing??

  • @TheAdventureGeek and where are your videos, troll.

  • is this amp meant for metal?

  • @3acdc3mtlca dude... its a mesa!

  • this guy is just demoing the amp to show what other sounds you can get out of it there not all just about metal !

  • man, im looking at getting a dual rectifier solo head and before i get it, i REALLY want a white croco version of it, could i buy the metal one and replace it or can u only get one or the other

  • please... tune your guitar before to play dude...

  • dude whats that song at around 0:50

  • @guitarfreakeddd Foo Fighters: Best Of You

  • No metal? Makes me sad.

  • POP PUNK GUY LOL..

  • eh. with all the hype that these oldies get, I would expect a better demo.

  • I own a Dual Rec. and I think the amp is good. I like Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100 better. Dual Rec. dose lose its sound when cranked up but that just means turn down gain. Brutal amp other than that though. Super good for recording. Good for live too. It is a very fucking loud amp, very loud.

  • @xTristan1994 apparently your comment is overrated because you removed it

  • A lot of great excerpts from excellent songs. I was thinking, "This guy's got a good taste in music" and then you surprised me with Blackbird. Phenomenal song.

  • I thinking of upgrading to a better amp head. I'm gonna use a mesa cab but Im divided between getting a rectifier or a Peavey 6505/5150+. I know that the Peavey is tighter and more clarity with gain and that the rectifier is better toned and warmer when saturated. However I have heard that mesa's lose a lot of clarity when turned up all the way and that although the peavey is not nearly as good as a recto it holds up better at high volumes and is much cheaper. Can U give me your opinion on it?

  • @megametalmaestro I own 2 Dual Recto heads and can tell you they DO NOT lose any clarity when cranked up. Infact as with any tube amp it gets better the more you drive the tubes (cranking up). If I were you get the Mesa if you're after a high gain head. Just my opinion I think Mesa is the architect for high gain amps.

  • @megametalmaestro Get the mesa!

  • Gibson les paul custom ebony + MESA ..= Awesome ;)

  • Turn The gain up you Douche, Dont strip this beast of what it can do, may as well get a fricken line 6

  • Its coming to sweep your soul away! Nice Blackbird dude! Now give me the amp!

  • foo fighters! :)

  • what tubes are you using?

  • It's the best rectifier demo. Is it the F-revision (92-93)?

  • monkey wrench, nice demo

  • You played blackbird at the end!! sweetness!

  • Definatly one of the best amps around

  • Great tones man. I wished you had played with a contemporary metal sound too though, like Lamb of God's tone (they had Dual Rectifiers back in the As the Palaces Burn days but now they use Mark IV's and V's).

A couple questions that I would really like answered are how do people afford these amazing amps? Is it usually pros on YouTube that play on these? Do you have to forgo a nice vacation or something for a $2000 amp head and then another $1000+ for the cab?

  • @pyromaniainferno they get jobs

(avatar makes good cabs with celetions and there most expensiv 4x12 is $600)

  • @pyromaniainferno

    1. Dont buy stupid shit you dont need in your everyday life. I saved 2 grand by not eating out everyday for 7 months.

    2. Sell unwanted shit. We all got plenty of.

    3. WORK and get paid from said job

    4. Buy a good amp.

  • your clean sound is fucking amazing

  • Next time you do this, keep the camera away from the guitar. The strumming noise ruins it. Cool amp though

  • my 3 channel recto sounds much better than this

  • depends on how you set it up you fucking retard.

  • @christhekiwi12

    lmao owned

  • which version was this?

  • I recognized some Foo Fighters "monkey wrench" and Red Hot "under the bridge" riffs.

  • not so good

  • Guitar skills are fine. I just hate when I can hear the sound of the guitar riding over everything coming out of the amp.

  • me to man it shits me even when im playing it

  • Интересно, как бы на нём звучал Cannibal Corpse - Death Walking Terror?

  • this amp sounds very average.

  • how can you tell? do you have a cab connected to your computer blasting the real sound you get from it? shut up.

  • really weird, i've played 2 channels that have sounded amazing, this just sounded suprisingly decent.

  • @theneil100 any tube amp that is at low volume sounds crappy, you gotta get them tubes white hot!

  • @theneil100 that may be because many use it, right?

  • @JustusFriedolin Don,t know, but i,ve tried this amp out,in the shop and for the price it wasnt worth it,ended up buying two peavey 6505+ 60 watt combos, connecting them to two marshall 4x12,s in stereo, for less than the price this amp costs, and i,ve got a gigantic monster sound.

  • @theneil100 yeah thats perfectly fine. i havent tried that out, but im sure it sounds good aswell.

of course everyone has to find his own sound.

there are millions of amps out there and every single one of them is used by someone. some just have a real distinctive sound, some try to sound "normal". haha ive even seen a bassist use a dual rectifier, man that sounded shitty.

Maybe u wanna post a video of your setup sometime, sounds interesting.

    peace

  • @theneil100 Ive got one of those 6505+ 112 combos and it already sounds monsterous with a Mxr 10 band plugged into it

  • @theneil100 By average do you mean the sound is very familiar? It should sound "average". They're so sweet everyones got one.

  • @theneil100 i dont think he has it set very loud. You need to run the amp higher volume and you get more out of warmer valves. Mesa's are outstanding amps, they just don't like being played quitely.

  • Please can somebody tell me the name of the second song and the band! I know the lyrics are something like "Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be theerree!" lol

  • Drive by Incubus

Theyre coming out with a new cd buddy.Check it out.

  • Oh, hey found it, thanks a lot mate! :D And when abouts? I'll be sure to ;) But anyways, appreciate it :)

  • Drive - By Incubus

  • Drive-Incubus

  • Hey man I like your taste in music, and I have the 3 channel dual rectifier, which guitar do you like better on the amp overall? I'm choosing between a gibson and prs. love strats too though, but might get that later

  • i have both and i would say i prefer my prs. i have a 2 channel recto as well but its a lil later model.

  • Thanks man! What style do you play?

  • i play just about everything. i really like jazz and mostly prog metal.

  • @153Braeden351 Kool same here, jazz is not easy though for sure, and rock is sweet of course too !

  • yeah monkey wrench xD

  • Is that best of you chords at the start :) This is Grohls amp

  • He uses the roadking

  • Actually, he plays Mesa Roadkings now, and as of the past couple albums.

To the video poster...your rhythm patterns are quite off on a lot of songs you play (I noticed it especially on the Foo Fighters songs). Keep at it though.

  • finally a demo of this amp that doesn't just play metal

  • agreed. I'm seriously considering getting the Dual Rectifier. But I really love my DSL, too...

  • But ENGL :)

  • I dunno - I'll have to try an ENGL.

to ungauged - what guage strings are you using?

  • Hey nice tone there on the foo fighter parts.

I've got a 1995 DR Tremoverd which is pretty cool too but I've not experimented much with it yet.

Which guitar did you use on the foo fighter parts?

  • Blackbird sounds really nice here

    Its a damn good amp

  • i thought dual recs didnt have the vents in the front?

i have a 97 dual rect. tremoverb. and it has the vents in the top . either way this is weak. why dont you stick to a style.

  • Yeah. Play the same damn music all the time, and dont evolve your playing by experience in different styles.

  • wow i meant stick to a style that sounds good. this fucking blows. sound is shit. he gets a custom made amp to play this garbage.

  • or don't suck at a bunch of different styles and learn to be great at at least 1.

  • Good point. But imo a good guitarist is a guitarist who can play at least 2 genres. But thats just my opinion.

I also think its more fun to play different styles. So that you can have a reson to buy different guitars ;p

  • No, a good guitarist is someone who takes the time to experiment with different styles. Why stick to one style of music? There's so much more out there.

  • @3goodreasonsofficial Checkout my channel, I agree with you 100%

  • @3goodreasonsofficial Well if he experiments with different styles but suck at all of them it doesn't make him a good guitarist. You could also say, a good guitarist is someone who takes the time to get good at one or more styles.

  • Are you sure this isn't a Stiletto?... it doesnt look like a duel recti....

  • it's custom made

  • Mesa amps come in different looks.

  • What song was that at 00:52?

  • Sounds like Foo Fighters-Best of you

  • rapport zéro

  • it goes from best of you to monkey wrench, both foo songs

  • I thought 2x12 rectifiers came with Celestion Vintage 30s?

  • pretty weak dude

  • i like the color scheme, just like kirk hammett's

  • Your amp sound realy fucking great...that s all

  • Uhm, your timing was way off on Under the Bridge.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like the stilletto. ! or?

  • why waste an amp like this on music like that??

  • because it's ALL about the tone no matter what type of music u play.

  • im agree with you 123jozef

this guy need to be more .. BRUTAL or whatever

  • good choice of songs!

i was surprised to hear alter bridge

    BLACKBIRD!!!!

  • Dude timing is off on Best of You and Monkey Wrench really listen too them next time bro peace

  • Incubus?

  • foo fighters!

  • i really dont like the mesa raw tone, i always use reverb, compressor, and a sonic maximizer, without those i dont like it, but with them its the greatest sound ever.

  • sonic maximizers just make the amp sound way to compressed and digita.l worst thing ever.

  • yea i admit it makes it sound a bit too digital, but its good for me as a metal player, i get a tighter low end.

  • nice tones

  • learn how to tune a guitar, and set the intonation

  • Wanker!

His guitar is perfectly out of tune.

    Nice tone bro

  • Blackbird...nice

  • Nice Best of You playing dude! Beautiful amp

  • u were playing monkey wrentch!!haha.

  • two times twelve lol

  • Honestly, depending on what sound you want, the amp you choose is COMPLETELY opinionated. Mesa and Marshall are both really good. Mesa does NOT suck and never will.

  • crank that shit up man =\

  • **Cough** Thats personal opinion dude

  • i think marshall is way overrated

  • agreed...

  • @ImaginaryHuman072889 that's what crappy guitarists usually say

  • @Daclaem they're not bad, they're just overrated.

  • I fuckin own 2 marshall and 1 Mesa and I prefer the mesa over the marshalls. Sorry but your wrong

  • Hahahaha!

  • ive heard that the clean channel sucks, does anyone else concur?

  • its one of the best clean channels

  • no.....

  • I just pick up a DR. im still having trouble making it sound good for leads. Obviously the crunch is heavy and thick.

  • usually works best with humbucker guitars for lead parts

  • mesa has amaaaaaazing clean channels. I use mine on clean with some delay and my small clone chorus pedal....amazing!

  • butchered foo fighters ouch

  • yeah, foo fighters man!!!

  • BLACKBIRD

    GEAH!

  • sounds good. What tubes do have in it?

  • This amp is more metal than a kettle.

  • haha wtf!?

  • Blackbird.....one of my favorites. Alter Bridge rules!!!! This amp sounds very close to a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb on clean.

  • foo fighters :) ... pretty sure grohl uses this for his distorted sounds live ... uses a AC-30 for clean

  • Dave uses Mesa Road Kings and so does Chris

  • dude, you played under the bridge way to fast!

  • wow. im loving the tones

  • I heard some Alter Bridge in there =D

  • just curious if you play any bluesy stuff and if this head is good for that

  • Definitely it can do blues. But if you mainly play blues, I won't recommend this but a Mark IV instead as you won't be utilizing the higher gain channels on the dual rectifier.

  • I am not real pleased with the dual rec for blues....It is a great metal/rock amp

  • the lonestar is hands down the best blues amp boogie makes, IMO.

  • I agree the Lonestar is a great blues amp, but like I said, I do not like Recs for blues at all

  • There not made for blues

  • they're made for everything.

  • the lonestar special is where its at for blues.

  • how much more moneywould be added for say a different grille and color lets say... 2x 12? any guess cause am getting close to buying one

  • I'm not sure. Prices will vary depending on what you choose. You should ask Mesa Boogie.

  • did it cost extra to custom finish? i am thinking of custom ordering a mesa

  • Yes it does. Depending on what you want. There are many custom finishes available.

  • I heard Incubus' Drive

  • thankyou!!:)

  • nice black beauty i have one too there so nice. i have just bought exactly the same stack as you can you send me your settings there so nice, your a great guitar player too well done:)

  • For this video, I'm on the vintage channel with most settings set at 12 o'clock while the gain is at 2 o'clock.

Cheers mate on your new rig! It's one hell of a rig to mess around with. If you want Metallica, just switch the channel to orange and you're good to go!

  • nice blackbird mate :) proud of you

  • deadly

  • you should grab some emgs and your sound will be killer.....

  • I heard alter bridge and got all excited there.

Great to know others listen to such a great band.

Amazing amp, tone, and guitars. Nice playing too.

  • MONKEY WRENCH!!! FOO FIGHTERS RULE. nice gear dude ;)

  • Are the old two channel's still good for metal? Do they come with reverb?

  • Dual rectifiers do come with reverb but they are called Rect-o-verb which aren't exactly the legendary Rectifier series. It's great for metal, isn't that what they were made famous for? I'll do a demo on the modern channel when i have the time. If not check out Tremonti from Alterbridge, he uses a Dual Rectifier as well on modern channel.

  • Alright, thanks a lot man.

I know Mesa's are fantastic for metal, but i didn't know if the 2 channel one's were o.k.

    Thanks again man.

  • dude, the 3 ch got bigger bottom end, maybe better for "nu-metal" kind of stuff, 2 ch is more versatile, tighter bottoms, better for leads

  • i like tight, yet big sound :P i gotta buy both? lol

  • Your playing is pretty good dude and you've gotten sweet vintage Marshall Plexi-ish tone out of a Mesa. Props...

  • sadly u didnt make full use of the beast....increase more gain dude!
