This reminds me of my guitarist (3rd best axeman in our town) friend in Pinas. Tuwing nasa inuman hindi niya makalimutan kantahin ito. broken-hearted kaya siya? I didn't know, let alone the meaning of lyrics of this song then . Or, maybe he just like the song and sings it with no special personal reason. It's simply hard to form some conclusion

Mel Torme recorded this in 1974, and E. Gorme in 1976, so logically Eydie was not the original artist, though Torme's version is the obscure one.
