Hey how much did you love driving your 240? and how reliable is the sr20det? Im about to Get a 1990 240sx with also a sr20det and wanted some info. Honestly always liked civic but friends are starting to go with 240s and im starting to see why. lol
i love the sr20 but in reality you could be running 232 whp with the ka24et turbo yes the single cam, and it has more torque per horsepower than an sr, and that costs almost the exact same price, the 205 horse power rating is at the crank too not the wheels so for the same price you could have more power and be more unique, everyone gets the sr20, so same rpice, more power, and more torque per horsepower, but everyone has their opinion, love the car too, sold it for a good price.
A good sr engine alone will run you about 2-3k, not including all the misc parts for a swap. My swap alone has been a good 3200 not including the extra 2k worth of parts my engine came with...Throw in a good shell with a couple add ons you got 6k easy. granted you never get what you put in, it was still a reasonable price.

this car for 6k is fair. nuttersr20det, u obiously havent done a swap. u forgot fuel pump, intercooler (which is a must have for a turbo engine), piping, getting the wiring done (which most people cant do so thats about 250 average at a shop), oil, antifreeze, spark plugs, motor mounts, and of course the option of installing the engine urself. so yea, if u want go ahead and do ur own swap instead of buying it Good Luck ;P
bluebook is just around 1500 for an '89 240sx which is what i have, 1800 for the motor and 500 for the rest of yer components yea, unless u got suspension underneath its not worth 6g's buddy
yes 6k is very reasonable some things need tidying up tho. im digging the rims and clear turn tail lights where did u get those? btw first thing i wuda done was remove that clutch fan and rewire ur stock ac fan to run all the time free up a couple ponies ;)
@popi785 Bought my 240 with a redtop SR for 2300. SR swaps are about 1800. A 240 shouldn't run you more than 1200-1400 tops, otherwise you're getting robbed. This car has a cheap set of wheels, decent body, lowered, and a decent albeit stock interior. Car's still not worth more than 3500 tops. $6000 is over the top unless it's got something other than a T25 under the hood.
Actually the sr20 is worth just about 2000 no where near 2500 for an s13, the car is worth about 2000 and you can get a body kit for about 500 or less. Read up on your shit. And yes I do know what I'm talking about!
Sorry to tell you clay, but I have owned 7 s13's and I would maybe pay 4000 at most for this one. What mods are you talking about? Looks stock to me, doesnt even have a boost controller by the looks of it, only has a bov and a front mount intercooler. Also you can get sr20's for cheap, I wouldnt pay more then $1500 for a stock one with tranny, they go for 1200 canadian. So yeah sorry but not worth that much, sure he can probly find some dumb ass like you to pay 6000, but not me. $3500 id take it
