  • that voice

  • Frenches are bad copycats.

  • why do I give a shit about the genre ??????????? cuz id like to find more bands like it.. morons

  • this is inspiration

a never ending music tale !!!

  • It´s Neige. So it must be good.

  • Neige's vocals sounds like Silenius' vocals...kinda...

I love this dude lol \m/

  • that joke isn't funny anymore

  • Inspirational song. I really enjoy what the lyrics have to say.

  • oh catchy,it is neige.

  • schöner song, auf dem gebiet macht keiner neige was vor

  • Formidável.

  • Great song

  • This is the first time I've heard Amesoeurs, and it is an awesome sounding song. Nice photos, too. Too bad this band split up after such a short tenure. I'm looking forward to hearing more songs by this band.

  • Neige has incredible black metal vocals, and he's got a beautiful clean voice as well. His black metal ones are so full of emotion. Whenever his voice cracks, it just, goddamn it is incredible.

  • nice photos man :]

  • What the hell is shoegaze. why people have to make new labels everyday?

  • @soullessSiIence it's about fifteen years that the term "shoegaze" is used to describe some kind of music like My Bloody Valentine.

  • @nicolapalo nope. Shoegaze is a dumb term to describe bands that use so much pedal effects that they are always gazing their feet. If you mix that with black metal then you're gay.

  • @soullessSiIence thank you!

  • @nicolapalo fifteen not even its been since the late eighties. that genre has nothing to do with metal.

  • @birinbirinbirin "About fifteen years" is not the same of "fifteen years": in fact the first studio album by Loop - one of the first "shoegaze album" - was relased in 1987.

I didn't say that shoegaze has something to do with metal: I've only said that shoegaze is not a new term to describe some kind of rock music.

"Shoegaze black metal", however, is a really weird description: I prefer "post black metal".

  • @nicolapalo about fifteen years is about ten years off. shoegaze is associated with rock by the way. and why does everyone have to be such a genre freak why cant it just be called black metal.

  • @birinbirinbirin why do you repeat what I've just said?

you say:"shoegaze is associated with rock by the way." but i've said:"shoegaze is not a new term to describe some kind of rock music."

13 years are closer to 15 years, don't you think? :)

I think that it can't just be called only black metal, because Amesoeurs are really different from band like Darkthrone or Mayhem etc. But "shoegaze black metal" does not describe properly this music.I call it "post black metal" and it sounds good to me.

  • @nicolapalo honestly, to me it sounds a lot like old screamo, and post hardcore bands.

  • @iamthegirlfriend this guy is right. its much like good ole screamo. theres also a bunch of neocrust, which basicly is another post.-hardcore genre (just as real screamo is)

  • @iamthegirlfriend are you drunk?

  • @nicolapalo 13 years? You mean 23. Simple math brother.

Still really dig the Shoegaze Black Metal sound, even some ambient industrial influence these guys take in their music. Very unique sound I wouldn't want to pigeonhole in any genre.

  • @seeminglyjaded you're right LOL 2010-1987=23 asd

  • not shoegaze im sorry this is metal dont even label it as shoegaze just call it ambient black metal

  • @birinbirinbirin not amnient but post - black metal

  • you know some people never grow up calling this not true blackmetal ofcourse not its original there own style i dont know what shoe gaze is or whatever the genre is called but if the music sounds original and artistic then im listening.

  • who is the singer ? sounds a bit like Neige.

  • @maggotfrom1993

    It is Neige

  • @maggotfrom1993

    I laughed :D

  • @youwereinsideme

    Awsome, thx for the tip!

  • my pleasure

    furia - "..."

  • Good stuff!

  • Silly kids.

Don't crop the wings of the musik by giving a genre.

btw: Folk Metal isn't inevitable a part of Black Metal.

  • yeah, viking metal is more so black metal than folk metal is.

  • lala who gives a fuck about a genre?

if its good, then its good!

  • who gives a shit about the genre anyway? just fucking listen to the amazing music.

  • well said

  • Shut the fuck up all of you...this conversation is pointless.

  • ugh, ok ya'all I'll break it down for ya

    there are 5 subgenres of metal;

    Death Metal

    Black/Folk Metal

    Doom Metal

    Traditional Heavy Metal

    Power/Gothic Metal

grindcore is supposed to be a combination of death/black metal with punk, and blah-core is simplified metal with breakdowns

simply put, Amesoeurs is a form of progressive post Black Metal

  • 5 subgenres? Seriously?

Straight off the bat I can name many more than just 5.

Thrash, Death, Black, Doom, Traditional, NWOBHM, Groove, Power, Gothic, Glam, Folk, Metalcore, Post-Metal

And I have probably missed some out not to mention that most of these subgenres have different subcatogories of their own. For example not only is there death metal but there is melodic death metal, brutal death metal, slam death metal, technical death metal ect.

  • dude, I'm talking about the MAIN branches.

thrash is part of traditional heavy, as well as nwobhm, glam is power metal, folk is part of black, metalcore isn't a genre in metal, its supposed to refer to simplified grindcore, and post-metal is the same as saying post-rock.

those are the 5 main MAJOR categories of heavy metal

  • @darkbarrage99

Just because there are several notable black/folk bands doesn't mean they are the same genre. They two genres exist seperately other than the bands that just happen to mix them.

Metalcore is the mix of hardcore and metal and has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with grindcore.

Glam is not power metal. Musically they aren't even similar in the slightest as glam was far closer to rock. Power metal has much more in common with NWOBHM than glam.

You really don't seem to know shit.

  • Death, Black, Doom, Heavy, Power, Gothic? You are a noob in metal

Progressive, Thrash, Speed, Nu, Industrial, Groove, Glam, Metalcore, Post.. etc

You dont know, A SHIT about metal, just shut up the next time you try to describe metal genres.

  • ehhhhhhhh, you niggas don't get it...

  • Whatever...

  • is famale on vocals?

  • I think someone said this was alt. rock, wtf? This is BLACK metal :) melodic black metal

  • no.

This is shoegaze with black metal influences.

  • could it be post-black metal because to me it does not sound like shoegaze... shoegaze with black metal influence=post-black metal

saying it is shoegaze kinda implies it is rock..

and saying it has black metal influence kinda contrasts with that doesn't it.. should it not be post-black

  • I get frustrated with metal subgenres. I reckon it should be black metal, thrash metal, death metal and core. Then each of those 1 level further, symphonic black, tech death, etc. Any further than that and you start getting 'funeral doom metal' and 'nu-black wavecore'

  • Great photos and band, i was directed here from an AUSTERE video and I am not dissapointed

  • C'est une groupe que m'en paye une tranche.

    La réalisaion était super!

  • it's post-punk cause of the bassss

  • unfortunate how they only released one full length and then split...I guess that's how all good bands go..

  • Amesoeurs > Peste Noire

  • BLACK Amesoeurs > Peste Noire

  • @jibuzzz thats the highest rated comment!? goddamn... they are both freakin awesome but how can anyone trump the genius of Peste Noire

  • @blackmetalblunt lol thats actually weird caus i have to admit that was a pretty stupid comment from myself... sure PN is awesome

  • @jibuzzz True! :)

  • the best band of neige

  • @ACABATU I think Alcest is better, but just IMO. Amesoeurs are pretty good!!!

  • @ACABATU Eh, I prefer Alcest... But these guys are really good, too! ^___^

  • petite pensé a mon homme "bruno je t'aime"

  • this is YO!!!!!! this is very puissant

  • they are split up?

  • Yup. :( But one of the members, Fursy Teyssier, has a band called Les Discrets, if you didn't know about them already.

  • And Neige plays as Alcest, both really good bands!

  • ..and also at Lantlôs, Forgotten Woods, Phest and Peste Noire =)

  • great song...

  • great photos! they work well with the song =)

  • reminds me of katatonia's murder.

  • same here .

  • ca bouge mon coeur.......

    j'aime tres bien cette musique....

    c'est comme on rever =)

mais c'est dommage que il n'y a pas les cd's des amesoeurs ou alcest...

    infernal hails, phi l"necrophil entrailfucker"

  • Tormented souls will never rest

  • X::::::::........)

  • GOD DAMN IT. i love this.

  • perrrrrrfect!!! (L)

  • This is the 1st song i've heard from this band and its awesome!

Great photo's too, works so well with the song, thx for posting

  • ....well have u ever heard post-hardcore? Not always that fast. Keyword: POST

Guessing you don't listen to alot post :p

  • You got that from UG haven't you? Yes, it's not the most accurate of places..

  • post-punk isn't all that fast. Is MBV fast? The CURE? no

post punk doesn't have to be fast.

  • MBV is shoegaze.

  • they are also considered post-punk, I don't really know why.

    Not post-hardcore, but post punk.

A magazine I read called Loveless the best post-punk album ever.

I agree it's more shoegaze, but that's what they call it

  • a lot can be tagged as shoegaze. at all its a weird genre.

no question that this is post-punk and black metal.

  • What does shoegaze mean?

  • Shoegazing (also known as shoegaze) is a subgenre of alternative rock . The shoegazing sound is typified by significant use of guitar effects, and indistinguishable vocal melodies that blended into the creative noise of the guitars. There's a heavy droning distorted guitar effect. Some bands are "Lush" "My Bloody Valentine" "Ride" "Alcest" "Slowdive" and "LSD and the Search for God". My Bloody Valenine's "Loveless" is considered the definitive shoegaze album

  • Thank You, I am heavily into music and I always get excited when I find yet another subgenre of music

  • hit wiki next time

  • I have to say that might be the first helpful comment I've ever seen on youtube. Thank you kind youtuber.

And yes, it saved me from googling as well haha.

  • Which is funny because I prefer shoegaze-inspired black metal like Alcest, Amesoeurs, Altar of Plagues, and Wolves in the Throne Room to classic shoegaze like MBV's "Loveless."

  • Shoegaze, Shoe-Gaze.

Makes you gaze down at your shoes and think.

  • Lol, I've never heard fast post-punk.
