Wow - too bad we lost the streetcar system. it could have been modernised and rerouted early, which would have been much easier than putting in a new system now! High-capacity electric light rail.
Great movies..... But obviously sixty years ago, not forty. How sad that it was all abandoned years ago. The smart thing would have been to purchase high speed, double end PCC cars at the time to modernize the operation. But back then, people were brainwashed to think that buses were better.
How long will it be before we see modern light rail on some of those exact same rights of way and streets? We've come full circle.
