  • i been there

  • FIDEL CASTRO is who has SCREWED UP CUBA. Today Cubans are useless and dependent of the handouts. Cuba imports sugar today. SOCIALISM SUCKS.

  • the United States has sanctioned this beautiful country back to the stone age...Its damn shame everything they have is from that era of the 1950s before the reveloution as if the hour has stop no export no import its truly sad.

  • I actually forgot how great their voices are. I used to hear them as a very young kid. Too bad we don't learn to appreciate what we have when we have it.

Cuba was an absolutely beautiful place before Castro. It's too bad the Commie's turned into a crap hole. But then again anything they touch turns into crap.

I wish the hell we could bring back the clubs from that era when there was more to life than just sub-standard talent being passed off as entertainment.

  • @IngloriusBastard11

you went ot he clubs and hotels, did you see how the peasants in the countryside were living? greed messed up everything, not so much communism or democracy or any other form of government.

  • Beautiful!!!! Bello!!! Thank you for these Lovely memories~*

  • This is a classic from the 50s when Cuba was beautiful.

  • hello. love the music. very beautiful. what is the song played at the very begining?

  • @thebunny14

QUIEREME MUCHO (Cuando se quiere de veras) ("Yours") Music: Gonzalo Roig

    Lyrics: Agustin Rodriguez

English lyrics: Albert Gamse & Jack Sherr.

    Year: 1931

  • WONDERFUL!

    So very ROMANTIC.

    Thank you.

  • WOW!!!!!

  • WHEN YOU HEAR THIS MUSIC YOU CAN'T DENY THE IMPACT HISPANIC MUSIC HAS HAD IN THE USA

  • Whats the song at 0:44?

  • @DCLbeats

It's the english version of the song BESAME MUCHO. (Kiss me much)

The spanish title is used in english.

  • at 7: 54 whats this song??

  • @alishacail

That song is called "quien sera" also a very popular song in it's english translation

    known as " Sway".

Here it is sung by Eydie Gorme.

  • The rendition of "Adios, Linda Morena" sounds better than any of the others interpretations I could find on You Tube. The one that sounds best to me is the one by Ana Maria Gonzales but it is no longer on You Tube.

  • Wow!

  • esa cancion es mexicana de Consuelo Velazquez

  • @chibimonse

Correcto.

  • love it

  • a lovely clip ... really would luv to know the song that comes after ( besame mocho) ... who is that lady singing ? what is the name of the song ? so lovely

  • i cant find this song (adios , linda morena ) i just love it : /

  • This song dates back to the 1930s. Many claim that it´s melody is based on Moises

Simons EL MANICERO a song that became

world famous. I have seen recordings by

xavier Cugat, Abbe Lane, maybe early Tito

Puente, and of course Eydie Gorme.

There were other videos on youtube

using this song, but I dont see them anymore. Its a good song in Spanish

and in english, and has that unmistakable

    cuban beat.

  • Havana looked like a paradise compared to today under the fascist dictator Castro!! But under the equally bad dictator Batista -only he,his cronies and the mafia profited!! Let's hope a real democratic leader who helps ALL the Cuban people takes over!!

  • Look at Cuba then..a near paradise.

Look at it now..a rotting shithole.

I wouldnt want to a be a Cuban Communist when freedom returns to Cuba. Your life wont be worth a peso.

  • im affended

  • no..you are offended...

I guess being an enlightened Cuban

Revolutionary is the opposite from being educated

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've inally found this marvel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the film 'great expectations' by alfonso cuaron with ethan hawk and gwyneth paltrow, there is a version of 'besame mucho' which is not put on both of the cd extracted from the film. i was looking for this song for a long time and there it is: at 06:18 the best besame mucho ever. the voice of eydie gorme is exiting. thank you very much for this !!!!!!!

    peter in France.

  • The song BESAME MUCHO was recorded

in the late 1950s early 1960s by Steve

Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. In the first

part of my video Steve sings it as ballad.

Eydie continues the song as an uptempo

swing version in spanish, and ends with

Steve and Eydie dueting the last phrase

in english. I will try to upload the complete

    song.

  • thank you, it would be very nice. and thank you for your explanation.

  • Comment removed

song BESAME MUCHO by Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.

  • thank you VERY much, albert.

very considerate of you to remember after all this time, it's very nice of you.

i love so much when eydie gorme starts to sing after the middle of the song. i love this voice so very much.

  • Thanks again for you wonderful trip in memory lane. I left Cuba when I was 11 yrs. old in 1965 and I have never been back . My parents taught me to love my adoptive country the U.S.A but also to love my roots.

    Sincerely,

    Losarabos

  • GUSANA DE MIERDA!

  • I was just there about a month ago for a 2 week vacation. As a Canadian, I can travel there no problem. It's a beautiful country with warm, friendly people and I'm looking forward to going back there again for my next vacation next year. Hopefully, by then, you Americans will be able to go there, too. Check out my videos of Cuba, btw.

  • what u talking about :D americans always go there :) I know , I see them going there.

  • I know but they can't go there from the United States. They can only enter Cuba from another country like Canada or Mexico. And now Obama's been working on something the past couple of months to restore diplomatic relations between the USA and Cuba. I hope that goes through, because then Americans will be able to travel freely back and forth to Cuba from their own country.:)

  • you know... its the same thing.

I saw orbitz petition but there is a problem...you always have to report OFAC and have a license and from my understanding u cannot go more than once at year(maybe I'm wrong but try to read it).

You know I'd like that we could travel directly(I'm not american) but Ithen I have to explain to much to the custom..well. I prefer not to. :)

  • hopefuly american WONT be able to travel to Cuba ...

i dont want americanize Cuba..full of stupid fat americans and McDonalds .burgerkings everywhere..

  • so are you going to napajedlacekanize Cuba ? I wonder how good will that change.

  • Thank so much for exposing the beauty and advancements of Cuba before Castro. Indeed it was beautiful and still the natural scenery is beautiful. It is a shame that instead of building on the advancement and continue the prosperity one man decided to allow all to deteriorate.

You have wonderful memorabilia which I would love to have a copy of: the brochures of the hotels specifically.

    Eydie Gorme.

  • bonjour,

in your video honeymoon in havanna 1958, at 06:18 there is a great version of besame mucho sang just by eydie. But it's cut, there is only 1 minute or so. i've been searching internet and couldn't find it in the full version. could you one day put it here if you have it? it would be a wondrful thing, since it's the best version of besame mucho ever. you can have a small sample in the film by alfonso cuaron with gwyneth paltrow and ethan hawk. that's the way i discover this song. peter

  • Adorable video, thanks!

  • My father always said, "The Cubans are the Jews of the Caribbean." He was right!! They are the money-makers.

  • This expression has nothing to do with money. It refers to the suffering of the jews through the

ages. A cuban wrote this: ".

  • nice to hear two talented singers. So warm and fuzzy

  • Thanks for producing another wonderful Steve and Eydie video. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thanks again, Andrea

  • Thank you for another wonderful compilation. My boss used to visit La Habana when she was young, antes de la revolucion. She'd love to go now but - well, you know - she and I are estadounidenses. I share these vids with her.

  • Dear Albie: Another great job! Thanks for this holiday gift. EllenB

  • I'm happy you liked it. Steve had to interrupt

his honeymoon and went to Cuba with Steve Allen for a live TV transmission to the U.S.

on the opening of the luxurious Riviera Hotel

in Havana. In my video, I had Eydie go to

Cuba too, but in real life it did not happen

    that way.
