fx-8150 performs very differently under different compilers. There are some tests where it actually BEATS the 12-thread 3960x when the Open64 compiler is used (C-ray rendering), but is only half as fast with other compilers. Sometimes Open64 is slower though.

Benchmarks do not represent the real potential of each CPU. In the real world, a single server DOES NOT run a range of software. It runs one program, and a compiler can be used that best fits the CPU+software. AMD is almost always better.

Kids these days are blinded by what defines a real gaming processor. A quad-core is the best you could use for a gaming at the moment. Because the most games can support is a quad core. The hex and octa cores are built for multitasking, heavy video rendering and other tasks that require heavy processing power. And i5-2500k would probably be the best choice atm. It can be heavily overclocked and is set at a very nice stock ghz speed anyways. i7's uses hyper threading, which video games cant use.

@oldVideoGamesChannel Not true. Back in the early to mid 90's AMD was recognized as being better and faster than intel. And as far as price to performance goes, AMD has ALWAYS been better.

The price of the Intel CPU they are using: $9000

The price of the AMD CPU: Less than $500

Coming from someone in the computer industry.... from a business standpoint, all that matters is bang for buck. Ask ANYONE. Having a shiny box means nothing. AMD will always be cheap and efficient, and intel will always be slightly faster for 4x the price.

Keep in mind that this video was made with an intel bias. If it were AMD they wouldnt even need to cheat to make it look good. <3 AMD.
