The boltz that you see appear in the foreground are not really in the location that they appear. This is an effect that is caused when the image of the original bolt hits the curvature of the camera lense, it's reflection then hits the wall around the lense, then it's reflected back to the lense again. This causes the lightning to appear in a strange spot. See how the top is cut off of the lightning bolts in the image at :14. The fat bolt is overexposure, it is really behind the house and trees.
There was a severe T-Storm when I lived in North Dakota (now live in chicago) and my dad told me to shut the front door because it started storming. Right when I got to the door lightning struck a tree that was just 10 feet from me. Not to mention there was a propane tank right next to the tree, and thank GOD it didn't blow. I was blinded by how close the lightning was for a few seconds. Crazy shit, man.
dude thats nothing compared to what happened here in texas mothers day 2006. We were in my house watching tv and i look at the telephone pole thats litterally like 15 feet away from my house and lightning hits the pole!!!! It freaked me out and i was only 8 when it happened also later that day we had a huge tornado, it was the freakiest day ever no lie
