Too bad when it really comes down to it Window's has a slight edge on Mac kuz Window's can record in 32bit resolution (in some cases 64bit) and 192khz if u get the right parts, HD is only 24bit 192khz. So really after recording in HD on an ordinary Neko u'd have to downgrade ur quality 2 send ur music off to be mastered just so that a Mac can pull it up because a mac can only reach 24bit lol
and no need 2 worry about the stability on this kuz with all the power behind it its not really an issue.
Why do You have a PRO TOOLS HD decal on ur Neko? I see you have the MBox and I know it doesn't record in HD. If everything on there works and u can actually get HD working properly You could SSSSSSOOOOOOO make a shit load of money if u sell ur Idea to Open Labs lol kuz that there could easily be the next most popular thing.

Wow When you say modified, did you replace or added the pads and it seems theat each time I see this nice little unit each person has it designed for the specif needs. Are you able to take a basic model and add devices like how you make a lynx computer?

the point is to have an entire computer, with knobs, pads and whatever you want with a keyboard and as many synths you can think of all in one sturdy very well made machine. Instead of bringing your keyboard with your desktop, and your drumpads or mpc's you can bring this one awesome NeKo. And this dude loves his Mac so he made his neko compatible with it.
no MY point was that this looks neither sturdy, sleek or really even all in one. not sayin it's not cool but to me at least the upside of a neko would be the custom os work that they do and how sleek they make the total package. this just looks like someone threw a bunch of gear from sweetwater into a plastic mold whether it fit or not. i would probably prefer to have a lot of the add-ons just separate so they were easier to get to. still it's cool. just wouldn't pay money for it. no big deal
It's an entire production station in one ... the include a built-in audio interface, for MIDI I/O (I think), and all kinda ins/outs so you can record straight into the Neko. I see your point, too. Nothin' wrong with that. But it's well-worth the money. That's my opinion though. You have one, and so do I. =P But I'm gonna stick with my PC, keyboard, etc.
Hmmm, I guess I don't understand the point of converting this to OSX when the XP version is the designated OS for the device and the most stable. It's not like you are going to be surfing the web, or running ILife, or Final cut pro or anything... Also you should really check their web site to make sure you don't void your warranty and your ability to obtain technical support isn't hampered in any way. And you should correct your title to read "Mac not Windows XP".
I want to tell everybody here that Openlabs make now there new Neko LX Generation 4 on windows XP & it is great & more stable then the Mac, Apple is moving very fast & there OSX has some problems here & there, this is normal, I already bought one & I am very happy with it more than the one I did ( Mac Version ), Everybody is using it now, It doesn't worth to spend time doing it, the new Gen 4 is great, go & see a demo you like it I am sure & take my world
Yea but what about all those sounds that come with the neko, (25GB) or (5GB) were they any good and the mimik feature a powerful pc can't do those things. And what exactly happen to your neko to cause it to not work anymore?
DAMMIT!!!! Now you making me think twice about getting one, I wish I could see more vids. and hear more normal people talking about it cuz open lab will only let you hear what they want you to hear, I want to hear (and see) more pros and cons, I just wish there were more vids and i could hear more sounds. And I thought they said that the V4 library would be out in august there still not out?
The NeKo is much more robust and stable than everyday "computers" it has very high quality parts in it, plenty of RAM & Storage and its not like your going to install other types of programs like movie editors and photoshop etc, as it's soley made for music production
ehh...i dunno bout that...i got a pad control and within a few weeks, the pads stopped working properly... sometimes ill hit a pad and itll play more then one pad. sometimes ill hit a pad and it doesnt work at all. and no, its not caus i beat the shit out of it..i was always careful with it. id go with the akai mpd 24 before i bought the padkontrol for anyone who wants an opinion. yea, it lights up...cool. not functional tho.

Its something id love to get in the future. But for the time being if ur on a budget. Seriously Having a PC and a midi controller with ur softwares and vsts are gonna achieve the same results.

So I found the touch screen i want, but it's $2,000. So it's gonna take 2-3 months before i can afford it, but it's made by Elotouch dot com. Elo 2420L 24" LCD Desktop/Wall-Mount Touchmonitor. It uses Surface Wave Acoustic technology so the screen is glass, and it's big. Gonna try to throw the mouse out the window and put the touch screen on my 88key weighted piano bed.
how in the heck did you build that? and your running OSX? with a touch screen? i was going to get a touch screen for my mac but wasn't sure how good it would work.

It took one month because I had to order many parts from the USA & had to wait for them, but you can say one week to mount everything,the spec. are here if you press more on my post you will find all what is mounted inside.
Yes Mbox2 Mini Inside for the move & HD3 System for my studio, the computer is outside & I can connect an IBM or Mac if I want, so it's more easy for future computer upgrades, I can also sell my MacBook Pro very easy then selling a motherboard

Yes OSX with Touch Screen with a Special Driver from a company called TouchBase UK, there support is very good on the phone also, it is very handy.
