Jeremy Hummel's drumming is the Breaking Benjamin sound. I have never met a more dedicated professional in my life. Breaking Benjamin's loss is the gain of every student who ever takes a lesson from this man. His technique, attention to detail, and ability to meet the student at their level is paralleled by only a very few in this world. Jeremy Hummel's name should be mentioned in the same discussions as Tommy Igoe, Dave Weckl, Mike Mangini, Steve Gadd, and Steve Smith.

Just my opinion but I don't think Chad is technical at all compared to Jeremy. On the new album Chad is playing the same grooves most of the time. I preferred the drumming on the older albums.
well all drummers have their own style and im sure Jeremy played alot of the same grooves in their older albums because every drummer pretty much does its just how drummers develope their own thing........the point is that they are both very good drummers and we all have our own opinion
I love drumming so much! I appreciate all sorts of styles. In my opinion, it's the only real way to find your true style in playing. I'm doing a drum solo myself at a gig this Saturday, and I'm just gonna go with the flow and see what I come up with- just praying it doesn't fuck up lol. It's my first gig in 5 years, so I'm not sure if I'm going beyond my abilities, but I'll see how it goes :D

well jeremy was the drummer from the start so yea there chemistry isnt goin to be good with a new drummer cuz drummers have there own style, how they play, type of drums so it takes awhile for them to get use to playin wit other people. but id say chad has some more talent jeremy but if they battled it out idk who would win that

I saw them at the Pageant (St. Louis) on the 16th too. Although I like Jeremy better (drumming wise), I've gained a bit of respect for Chad. The show kicked ass!
I LOVE Breaking Benjamin, but i kinda lost some respect for hummel for leaving the band. U should play and write music for the love and fun of it, not to get paid. But now they have chad and chad is awesome!
Wait Jeremy didn't leve the band he was replaced. Jeremy and his wife had their first child and he wanted to take some time off for the occasion and I guess Ben wasnt quite down with that idea so he replaced him...all Jeremy wanted was some time off with his family. Chad is still not the drummer that Jeremy is and the chemistry shows at the live shows. I went and caught the show in St Louis last night 10/16 and can say for the first time that I was disappointed in the show!
Ben's voice hasn't changed much at all but his hair has it's kind of long in this video but now its short.

I love drumming so much! I appreciate all sorts of styles. In my opinion, it's the only real way to find your true style in playing.
