A test done several years ago to test a group of school kids of various ethnic backgrounds to determine which ethnic groups they most resembled at a genetic level proved that our differences are almost entirely cosmetic. Ethnic groups are not genetic in nature at all. They are purely social constructs. They do tend to be associated with relatively distinct population clusters, but that is a whole other complex story. Point is, ethnicity is in your head.
Ethnicity is not about skin color. Ethnic groups are basically any group that considers themselves and are considered by outsiders to be an ethnic group. The unifying factors for such a group can range from shared religions to language to any number of inherited or cultural traits. There are quite a large number of ethnic groups that do not differ in skin color at all, but are nonetheless distinct groups.
I should add as well that "race" is not a recognized scientific concept anymore than "kinds"(creationist term). Ethnicity is considered a valid concept and research in that area is always underway, but "race" has no useful definition, and the old "scientific racism" idea that gave us the familiar tripartite division of humans into Caucasian, Mongoloid(Asian), and Negroid(African) has long been discredited and is generally considered to be nonsense. @Leikonel Restricting immigration isn't racist in itself -- but the BNP isn't only dedicated to restricting immigration (and would be happy to allow white people from the US, Canada, Australia etc to immigrate). The BNP wants a whites-only island, and if they were able to would "encourage" non-whites to leave.

yeah im absolutely with you man, i think theres some races like whites and jews and some of them are genetically just better (like whites are better than jews). @corthew Not only is the Bible not a credible source for a debate about genetics and "who came from where" but evolution is also quite a bit different from the Bible, other than just the flood. @corthew Actually I apologize for shooting down the Bible thing, I generally try not to say one specific belief is wrong, and I guess I didn't really mean the Bible was wrong, just that, I don't know, I can't quite find the right words to say want I'm trying to get across, but I swear it's not anti Bible. I don't know...maybe instead of just saying the Bible is right, take what it says and go out and try to prove it in substantial ways or something? Everyone wins then, maybe.

I know you probably meant it right but when you say "evolved from a common ancestor" you make it seem like it was a different species 100,000 years ago, and it wasn't, same as we are right now, baring minor changes of course, but technically the same species. And it wasn't South Africa as much as Eastern/Central Africa. But in theory so either could be just as right.
