  • @GiveASht

my god you are the most pathetic excuse of person ive ever seen

what are you an endogamic redneck homophobic bastard?

have you even watched the movie ?

the movie its about accepting yourself, giving all youve got to the people you love and most of all learn how to be humble cause if you hate someone it means you hate yourself cause we often hate others cause they are a lot like ourselves an they remind us what we are

you need to accept yourself you might act that way cause youre gay

  • @GiveASht As Lady Gaga said "No matter gay straight or bi lesbian or a transgendered life I'm on right track" Anyways, if you don't like it why did you post Three comments? Also a comment saying you want this off youtube wont do anything.

  • @GiveASht ...It's suppose to based off of Plato's Symposium you dumbass.

  • @GiveASht You only want it taken down because you feel dirty for finding Hedwig attractive. Bit childish. Just accept that you're a little gay, dude.

  • "last time i saw you we just split in 2.. you was lookin at me. i was lookin at you. you looked so familiar i could not recognize cuz you had blood in your face. I had. blood in my eyes. but I could swear by your expression that the pain down in your soul was the same. as the one down in mine! Thats the pain. that cuts a straight line down through the heart we called it love! we wrapped our arms round each other. tried to shove ourselves back together we was making love!"

  • dear god, this song is so beautiful!

  • Wow! This is Plato's philosophy <3 Nice song ^^

  • When I hear this I think it's about religion. That we start out not knowing love, your soulmate is your other half, part of your being. Gods get resentful of their bond. So they slit us up into two separate beings. So we spend our whole lives searching for our other half. Some men and men, women and women, male and female, or males who're female or females who're male. So you can't help who you fall in love with, regardless of their sex.

  • ..now, this wonderful song means a lot to me....now...

  • But I could swear by ur expression, that the pain down in ur soul was the same as the one down in mine. That's the pain, cuts a straight line down through the heart...we called it love..So we wrapped our arms around each other, trying to shove ourselves back together,we were making love...making love....*****.

  • Oh, so THAT'S where love came from! I like it. =)

  • A great song from my favourite musical. Beautiful.

  • Just beautiful.

  • @HatZombie Your life sure is.

  • WOW, just WOW. I came across this song quite randomly after reading a manga called Double Mints. It is a yaoi piece and plus it will probably be disturbing to most people. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, it probably isn't the thing for you, so be warned!! Double Mints is based on this concept!! So I tried to hunt for it's origins and it brought me here. Boy am I glad I took the time to do some research.... I love this~!! Now off to netflix! Hope they have this!

  • Is this a man in drag?

  • @StrangeSherwin Yes. And the guitarist is a woman.

  • @StrangeSherwin It's a man playing a male-to-female transsexual.

  • I find it hilarious how they sing this song in a bar in the midwest of the States (Arkansas?... if I remember well) where most people are super christian conservative.

  • Only if i had two dicks, nevermind.

  • This song breaks my heart everytime

  • Can you imagine how epic it would be if Kurt Hummel sang this song on Glee?

  • @dralockhart OH GOD THAT'S A MAGNIFICENT IDEA.

  • @dralockhart I honestly don't know why no one thought of that before. You. Are a genius.

  • According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with 4 arms, 4 legs, and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts condemning them to spend the rest of their lives searching of their other halfves - Plato

  • @DavidxShayne And the reptilians fucked us even further, introducing primate dna to dumb us down even further. They experimented, cromagnon, neanderthalis, ones we don't know about that fell off the fossil records.

We were complete eons ago. Love was in all of us then and there was no need to explore love. Now we are halves walking around searching for the connective force called love. Look up videos with creedo mutwah and david icke. He talks about the exact same thing. There are no coincide..

  • @DavidxShayne The story is from Plato's symposium, but he did not say it. It was Aristophanes

  • @DavidxShayne Actually, it was Aristophane's speech in Plato's Symposium. ;)

  • WHERE can I get one of those big yellow "Hedwig" hats at 5:13?!

  • Comment removed

  • TE AMOOOOOOOOOOOO JOHN CAMERON MITCHEL!!!! I'll give ur fist born!! haahahaha... An adopted one that is. ;) LOVE YOU!

  • What movie is this?

    I'd love to see it.

  • @AMP1317 "Hedwig and the angry Inch" I think was what it was called.

  • @AMP1317 *facepalms when I look at suggested videos* jeez, "you think" really?

    ZK you stupid fuck......

  • @ZKoftherebellion Thanks haha. I sorta guessed it when I looked more into the song.

ANd yeah, I guess it is plastered all over the suggested videos.

Thanks though, I still went by your comment.

  • @AMP1317 Hewdig And The Angry Inch

  • technically a man, but he only has "an angry inch"

  • Is that a man or a woman?

  • pepsi subliminal advertising at 4:28?

  • <3

  • I've seen this scene a lot of times and never get fed up with it...

  • Fantastic movie. Beautiful idea & presentation.

  • wow.

  • This song is based primarily on a portion of Plato's "Symposium," in which Socrates and several other notables of Greek antiquity gives speeches about love. If I remember correctly, Plato attributes this particular myth to Aristophanes, the playwright and satirist who had a habit of lambasting Socrates in his works.

  • @notbutch37

    That is right n_n

  • I love this song

  • This is really beautiful.Fantastic movie

  • Whats this movie called ?

would like to see it :)

  • @bugea7er Hedwig and the Angry Inch :)

  • @Foolanna

I think the songwriter used the idea of "mother earth" to make women the children of the earth. Since the earth is nurturing, many people give it feminine qualities... so I think that's why. I think it would work well either way.

But yeah, I love this song. I could listen to it over and over again, especially starting from the part with the gods. I love the energy in the second half.

  • @Umbrielle

Me too, love how the energy builds up and then the ending... no words.

True too, earth is generally associated with feminine qualities. But I also like the deliberate mix of Greek, Nordic and Egyptian gods to make up a perfect explanation for our greatest longings and sorrows-again, no words to live up to what the song can express

  • @Foolanna I love this song

the story (without Thor and other non Greek religions gods) is from Platon's symposium writen in 400 B.C.

and the whole book it's a discussion between philosophers and they talking about the god of love Cupid

  • Such a sad and beautiful story...

the only thing that puzzles me or that I would change is the two girls being the children of the moon and the man and woman being the children of the earth. Because in most mythology sun is associated with men and moon with women.

I could swear by your expression that the pain down in your soul was the same as the one down in mine...

  • @Foolanna The song is based on the Platonic Myth about love. :) Google it.. and read it.. :) and you will understand the song better.. :)

  • @chrisbous

Thanks I'll google it but I'll stick to my original emotional understanding of the song because it couldn't get any better and I don't want to intellectualize it...

  • nice !!

  • You had a way so familiar, that i did not recognize.

  • Why couldnt be this band a reality????? John Cameron Mitchell sings so well! Excelent performance!!!!

  • I've never seen the movie. Why is he dressed as a woman

  • @Piffman25 well, he lived in communist berlin, and an american soldier fell in love with him and wanted to take him out of communist berlin. so he had to undergo a sex change and leave as the soldier's "wife". but the sex change didn't go right b/c it was done by a back alley doctor

  • Intense.

  • Hedwig is so beautiful (as a man, as a woman)

  • OMG it's something wonderfull this song!! *_*

  • love the bridge so much :D

  • So deep,so remarkable..what a lyrics!!! Why do this band was so underrated????

  • @worddefender me too

  • @worddefender OMG!! me too!!!

  • < 3

  • Aristophanes explaining the lies of the inner mysteries as to where homosexuality and heterosexuality come from. He was punished for revealing "too much" of the myseries.

  • Simplemente genial.

  • chills. this gives me CHILLS every time i watch/hear it.

  • @GoNadz69 the last film i watched and just made me want to integrate it into my daily routine was pink floyd the wall....when i watched this i thought.......this is that other movie that just means way too many things to watch just once, i watched it today...i will be watching it for days and days to come....i love this, this is such a good expression of the human need for love and one of the most sad and devastating things i have ever seen....i love it

  • a platonic story found in Symposion

  • WOW!

At first I was like.. good tunage but WTF??

And then I was like... that's pretty cool, I get it now.

And by the end I was like... THIS IS AWESOME. Meaningful, understated, impactful, and it still sounds good! :3
