  • why theres sand on train cars?.

  • Interesting. My Grandpa said that when he was a boy, the engineers would throw him comic books! Not water!

  • give me a call a at 7064911339 i wanna go freght train hopping

  • any from area clearfield utah wanna go freght tain hoping

  • thats an SD70MAC and a GEEVO, not 2 GEEVO's

  • @AVtrainz1998 I know that. I said with a SD70MAC and two GEVO's. One gevo behind the Mac and another one at the back in DPU mode

  • @TezJ16 Oh... right... why didn't I see that...?

  • @AVtrainz1998 No problem man it happens haha.

  • I love when the rail road workers are nice and do stuff like this, CN crews who were working on the tracks offered me a folding chair to sit on while I rail fan, which I turned down due to it would look funny sitting down in the middle of the side walk and recording, Really cool video man

  • You got lucky they didnt throw something else at you. The CJRR tracks where I live are littered with piss bottles from the trains. The engineer is nice, though, it turns out it's some guy I knew for years and we both had a laugh over it.

  • And with the local I forgot Fridays

  • what is that? SNOW!??? 6:11

  • @radanju3 I think it was sand

  • @radanju3 oh

  • LMAO! funny!

  • Nice Horn!

  • Cool video! Love the sound of all the wheel sets as they cross the diamond!

I'm glad it was water they tossed you instead of bottles they had peed in! LOL

  • @muffmaster71 Thanks man! So am I that would have been brutal haha!

  • I live right by the BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision and I've had stuff get thrown to me quite a bit by friends of mine. One day a mainline crew even left a little care package including a vest in backyard for me. And as of late when the BNSF Local 101 goes back to Galesburg on Saturdays after working at Luckey here in town if the crew has to stop and wait for trains they will clear crossing next to my yard and sit and talk to me. I love the BNSF Railroad!!

  • I remember as a kid about 13 around 1993. Guilford and CP would stop in Mechanicville NY waiting on clearance all the time. I lived a stones throw from the switch they would stop at and go out and conversate with them. Got to hang out in the cab countless times. Even got to ride around moving some cars before.

  • That was really nice of them. There are a few nice ones out there. I've had one give me a triple toot of the horn. One night while shooting some night pics of a passing train a near by parked train turned on his lights for me.

  • I kinda looked like they threw the water to shoo you off not to be nice it looked more like a get out of here type thing lol

  • i remember when csx engineers used to do that and let me ride in the engine and blow the horn before they turned into cock suckers

  • You're Welcome!

  • i got a bunch of water at yeoman yard in tampa that a train driver threw at me it was really nice of him because it was almost 100F degreses out

  • That was really nice. Im glad that there are still some nice crews out there.

  • I thought the days of cool train crews was gone for good. Glad to see the traditions are still going. I used to get candy bars, & sandwiches from the brakeman when the trains still had cabooses on them. That was eons ago in the early 80's when Seaboard was still going strong.

  • I bet that was really neat. I wish that I was around back in the 80's when everything was that good. Thanks for the comment

  • Had some fun times back then as a kid.

    No problem.

  • Awesome 5/5

  • See us rails are not that bad. I used to toss stuff to a kid in Fort Collins Co. He looked to be handicaped and we all thought he was pretty cool. He would be out videoing us at the crack of dawn and would be there even as late as 11 at night. Most rails are pretty cool with fans. Some are fans themselves, just dont call them out on it lol.

  • the water looks really cold.. perfect for a hot day

  • Trust me it was cold. This was new years eve and it was freezing that day! But the water was great

  • Great video. This is the list of nicest things engineer's have done for me.

1- Cab ride around yard and sorting cars

2- Stopped for red signal, let me go in cab

    3- Threw candy at me

4- Shave and a Haircut and conversation

5- CP Rail hat, thrown by my friend Andy

6- Bottle of water from CN and CP trains

  • Thanks alot. Really? Thats pretty kool. I usually just get a wave and horn salute. I hope to get a cab ride one day. But thats pretty kool man. Thanks for the comment.

  • I guess when they see 13 year olds like me around the tracks they must think I am pretty nice.

  • I guess so. But if you were down here railfanning the UP, It may be different.

  • I have heard UP are real hard asses. The CPR has no problem with how close I stand to there trains. I guess Canada's rules and regulations are less strict

  • O yea UP are real hard asses. They seem to be the only railroad that has a problem with railfans. BNSF is not that strict from what I know of and NS is not as strict as UP. That may be the thing but UP can be very strict.

  • I can't say UP is a bunch of hard asses. I got a cab ride, & the grand tour of the entire yard/shops from Lynn Nystrom, (the UP 3985, & 844 steam guru himself) 2 weeks ago. Great folks at the UP steam shops, That being said, I have no problem with UP. I'll have a video of the steam shop tour, & the cab ride also soon.

  • Thats really nice. I haven't had a problem with UP so far down here in Arkansas. Some of them are really nice but I hear that some are hard asses

  • a csx engineer threw a bottle of water out of their locomotive to me. It hit me in the head : ). IT HURT!!

  • Man im sure that did hurt! That pack came mighty close to hitting me in the head

  • Ha, awesome.

  • Thanks man

  • cool. a TPW engineer through me a bottle of water once. I got it on video too. Ive had UP through me stuff before too.

  • Thats pretty kool. Ill have to check it out.

  • it is. its TPW 4053

  • That looks like sand at the end of the vid.

  • Yup im pretty sure it was sand.

  • that is so kickass

  • Thanks alot man

  • They thought u guys looked thirsty that's all

  • Haha yup because I sure was.

  • Nice!! I once had an engineer who threw me DVD's and Candy.

  • Man that was a friendly engineer! Thanks alot for the comment!

  • Yep, sure thing!

  • Leaders: 9988 & 6152
