frontline just did a great documentary about the bank failures on PBS. watched it last night. wall street and government are the bad guys here.our own naive brains in the general public are a big problem too. why can't we get our priorities straight? if Americans loved each other and God above all, we wouldn't need or rely on corporations and banks so much and then maybe life would start to be less intense, stressful, and full of so much chaos and evil. ok, it does present specific facts, but they are facts that whether you like it or not is based on one particular point of view. At least, that is what I perceive in Michael Moore's documentaries. Don't get me wrong, I like them as well. But you can't watch the documentaries naively believing absolutely everything they present. You mustn't take everything for granted and question those 'facts' sometimes. Don't forget there are ways to manipulate the truth as Moore himself does

I jumped for joy at news of the crash air france flight 447. I love watching the plane sink to its watery grave. I enjoy hearing the passengers screaming for help. The sound of drowning passengers gasping for air is music to my ear. The bottom of atlantic ocean is an awesome place to sleep on. The moment the jet broke up in midair must have been a kodak moment. I'm disappointed that the death toll is so low. A bunch of bodies floating on the atlantic ocean would've been an awesome sight.

I feel like those criticisms come from people who forget that Micael Moore's Documentaries are half-serious/half-comedy. Evil corporations vs. the little guy(or in Moore's case; the morbidly obese guy) is practically a running joke in his movies and I feel that people who take his movies too seriously are missing all of the great comedic moments in them. I watch these movies to be entertained, not to be convinced about one man's views.
I'm not sure if you're saying that sarcastically or not, but yes, it was. There were skits, funny interviews, etc. Just because it's about something serious doesn't mean you can't laugh about it.
Uh, I don't remember anything actually being funny, I remember laughing at a few things, but then the sensation of being disturbed would usually follow. I would say BfC was hard for me to laugh at, mainly because of the NRA interviews and segments. I have a great sense of humor, but something about how after that happened all they could think about was keeping their guns in their cars, it made me a little sick. Other Moore movies were very funny though.

My problem with Moore criticizing the bailout is that he would just as quickly agree to see that money go for some horrible spending on the poor or health care. I don't know which I enjoy more - Michael Moore documentaries, or the "I'm angry but I don't know why" response he manages to get from about half the viewers.
Moore's ignorance of the positive powers of market forces annoys me - but at least the confused nonsense he manages to draw out of other people - see much of what's below - provides a few laughs as compensation!

I jumped for joy at news of the crash air france flight 447. I love watching the plane sink to its watery grave. I enjoy hearing the passengers screaming for help. The sound of drowning passengers gasping for air is music to my ear. The bottom of atlantic ocean is an awesome place to sleep on. The moment the jet broke up in midair must have been a kodak moment. I'm disappointed that the death toll is so low. A bunch of bodies floating on the atlantic ocean would've been an awesome sight.

I feel like those criticisms come from people who forget that Micael Moore's Documentaries are half-serious/half-comedy. Evil corporations vs. the little guy(or in Moore's case; the morbidly obese guy) is practically a running joke in his movies and I feel that people who take his movies too seriously are missing all of the great comedic moments in them. I watch these movies to be entertained, not to be convinced about one man's views.

Uh, I don't remember anything actually being funny, I remember laughing at a few things, but then the sensation of being disturbed would usually follow. I would say BfC was hard for me to laugh at, mainly because of the NRA interviews and segments. I have a great sense of humor, but something about how after that happened all they could think about was keeping their guns in their cars, it made me a little sick. Other Moore movies were very funny though.
