Section 116 is so that no laws are made to force you to go to church or stop you from going. You should read the pre-amble to the constitution. Its pretty self explanatory in regards to heritage. Australia was founded in 1901 and not by the dream time, but no problem having a dream time party.
If our "Founding Fathers" (I presume you mean at federation) were so keen to create a Christian nation, then why did they write in section 116 of the Australian Constitution?
"The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth."

It is a good thing that their is a party that protects Australia's Christian Heritage.
