Also if the Terminator pick up John Conner and punch him thought his chest, just like Arnold did in the first movie. The Terminator throws him around Instead.
I can't comment more on Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese because we don't known what the character was like before he joins the Resistances.
I didn't like that he was about to cry in the end of the movie. This movie would have been over sooner if the so called giant terminator shoots at Kyle and Marcus instead of setting the Moto terminators.
It look like the script wasn't proof read, for example the Blair Williams character said if you have a problem with the machines Conner is the guy to talk to. First of all everyone should have a problem with the machines they whipped out almost everything and everyone, and second Christian Bale could have done a better job playing John Conner, all he did was talk on a radio.
@afdurrell remember a part of the script when john conner says: "I know who you r, even with you dont" and that last part of the dialogue he says: "what are you?".
Marcus being a terminator would be a shock if it wasn't in the trailers. How can Marcus swim? What was the point of him pulling the chip from the back of his head? What does the chip do? Who was the woman in the beginning of the movie, and how did she know about the other terminators that tried to kill John Conner? What killed the prisoner and the soldiers in the first ten minutes of the film?
The Marcus Wright character how is he cover in human tissue and the other terminator are not? This Terminator are support to be cover with rubber skin. When John Connor said to him that you killed my father Kyle Reese why didn't he go his is a teenager and you are in your thirtyed how is he your father?
Here are the problems with Terminator Salvation the plot holes, how did Sarah Connor know that Kyle Reese will be in his teen when he and John Connor meet for the first time? Kyle Reese didn't say he was this old when he met John Connor in the terminator, also when Sarah was recoding her tapes in the terminator she didn't she your father will be a teenager when you me him.

When I was a kid and saw the war in T2 I was like "Holy shit, show us more of that". Now I say "Please stop making more". The scenes of the war in T1 and T2 were better than the entire salvation. But I'v realised that war doesn,t make for a very intresting story anymore, not since Private Ryan, Platoon or Full Metal Jacket. Jarhead was excellent, but it wasn't really about war. the only reason to see this film is because of Sam Worthington's performance, its was very very good, aside from that, it wasnt that great, Sam made it for me.
Honestly, I found thit to be an excellent movie, as good as the 2nd one. People must accept the fact that stories must go foreward! One can only make so many movies about the future war. Finally it started! People say it was too dark, or not enough comedy. But all the franchie is based upon how terrible this war is. These dark times needded to be shown. And I think it was a great idea adding Marcus, who had not been predicted. And about the time traveling, it was too soon for that.

4) A PG-13 rating, so no gore and no naughty words...it's armageddon but don't you dare curse
One problem I had with this movie is that John Connor came across as really selfish. "If we bomb skynet and kill Kyle Reese then WE'RE ALL DEAD!!!" Eh, no... you'll be dead, it won't actually affect anyone else. Also at the end they're all happy with Marcus giving him his heart... Wait, what? You have a fucking Terminator ON YOUR SIDE! Who gives a fuck about Connor?
All the Terminators r bad. And Schwarzenegger's Terminator is not the only one. Its just his model (although not the most powerful), is the most reliable, but also the most susceptible to be reprogrammed lol. They shud just end it where Connor blows up Skynet's main base, dies in the process fighting T600, T600 escapes and Resse follows it through the time machine. Making the whole thing come full circle. That being the only ending that wud make sense in a Time-Travel story.
@RaikenXion ur wrong dude... think about it, member in T-2 in the begining of the movie they show connor in his like 40s? connor is not supposed to die. theres more to this story...kyle is bearly teenager in this movie, hes not old yet. hes supposed to be growing as the war gets worse.. in this movie the weapons they used were still led. in T-1 kyle tells sarah all his storys of his time, they had futuristic weapons...anyway, i hope they make another film that takes place during the future war.

@7Beltane The trouble with Hollywood, is these new directors come in, and they're too eager on straying away from the original story and want to do sumthing quite different, like stamp their own mark on it or sumthin. And I think they spoil it. Many of us just want to see it all lead up to the whole apocalyptic future war that we briefly saw in Kyle's flashbacks of T1-T2, and the brief bit of kinda prologue of T3. Thats exactly what they shud do.

@7Beltane Nah T3 was done by another director, it was more of a publicity thing for Arnie at the time, becus he was running for Governor. Although I will praise Arnie for getting his build back, he really did get himself in gud shape especially for his age at that time. Originally Vin Diesel was going to play the TX against Arnie, but that Idea got scraped dont know y.

@7Beltane Yeh, it was a guy called McG (sounds like a McDonalds lol), that did T SAL, and he'd directed Charlies Angles2 b4 that so I dont really know how that worked. Sal was pretty gud tho. Yeh, Ive only saw 1 other movie Kristanna did and that was a Vid-game adap called Blood Ranye, and honestly it was pretty standard. I'd like 2 see her in a real gud drama.

I agree with Cyrus. It could have been a really interesting new story to the T-World. But the dialogue was painfully basic and the writing was atrocious. Because of that, the action & effects were just struggling to keep me interested. I'm sorry but this film was a it let down for me. That's why i'm giving it a Low Rental.
That ending was amazing in all senses of the word it waslike watching the perfect ending to a slasher film those terminators were ducking scary as shit. Weak middle another lame as performance for christian bale.. This is the second sequel where he messed up a charecter that had plenty of time to flesh out..
Oh my goodness, I loved the review. Matching the first two would be hard, but as the PG-13 "4th" in a "Trilogy" you got a give it props for beating the 3rd.

I really don't see what is wrong with this movie, as so many others say. It added to the story, and to my recollection actually cleared up some issues with the storyline and plot from other films. The acting was a little sub-par, but like these guys said, the last third kicked so much ass, that the acting was forgiven. The only thing I disliked was Sam Worthington.
@Ihavealife100 Yeah I agree with you now on him, going over this movie so many times made me appreciate Worthington's acting. Christian Bale had one tone in this whole film, which is why people dislike him, but he is still very believable.

Arnold doesn't make a Terminator film good, just look at T3. Most people don't know James Cameron is the real reason Terminator is so awesome. James Cameron made the Terminator story and directed the first two films. He even made Arnold play as the Terminator and not Kyle Reese in the first film. Sure Arnold is cool but it seems like he gets all the credit for Terminator. Hollywood is just milking the cash cow now. This movie doesn't even look near like the future war in the previous movies.
Holy crap, my brothers and I watched 3:52-4:10 and it took a good 5 minutes to calm down after that. Besides finding awesome reviews, Spill is a great place for a much needed laugh. 100x thumbs up!

One problem I had with this movie is that John Connor came across as really selfish. "If we bomb skynet and kill Kyle Reese then WE'RE ALL DEAD!!!" Eh, no... you'll be dead, it won't actually affect anyone else. Also at the end they're all happy with Marcus giving him his heart... Wait, what? You have a fucking Terminator ON YOUR SIDE! Who gives a fuck about Connor?

All the Terminators r bad. And Schwarzenegger's Terminator is not the only one. Its just his model (although not the most powerful), is the most reliable, but also the most susceptible to be reprogrammed lol. They shud just end it where Connor blows up Skynet's main base, dies in the process fighting T600, T600 escapes and Resse follows it through the time machine. Making the whole thing come full circle. That being the only ending that wud make sense in a Time-Travel story.

@RaikenXion ur wrong dude... think about it, member in T-2 in the begining of the movie they show connor in his like 40s? connor is not supposed to die. theres more to this story...kyle is bearly teenager in this movie, hes not old yet. hes supposed to be growing as the war gets worse.. in this movie the weapons they used were still led. in T-1 kyle tells sarah all his storys of his time, they had futuristic weapons...anyway, i hope they make another film that takes place during the future war.

Yes and if they already had a new Trilogy planned and T-Sal is the start of this Trilogy then by the time it gets to the third film, they can make Connor 40 and look more or less like he does in the T-2. I just think its important to bring the whole thing fully circle really, becus wen ur messing with the Idea of time-travel you can always go bk a re-do sumthin, and the process never ends really.

@7Beltane But I do also hope the next film starts getting in2 the whole "future war" also, where we start seeing the resistance building up and begining to fight the Terminators. Maybe even show other particular models trying to Infiltrate bases, to get to Connor. Trouble is Ive heard the next one is sumthin bout Connor travelling bk 2 our present time, and aload of Terminators I mean, the flying ones, harvesters and stuff following him bk too, and Im not liking that Idea.

@7Beltane The trouble with Hollywood, is these new directors come in, and they're too eager on straying away from the original story and want to do sumthing quite different, like stamp their own mark on it or sumthin. And I think they spoil it. Many of us just want to see it all lead up to the whole apocalyptic future war that we briefly saw in Kyle's flashbacks of T1-T2, and the brief bit of kinda prologue of T3. Thats exactly what they shud do.

@7Beltane Nah T3 was done by another director, it was more of a publicity thing for Arnie at the time, becus he was running for Governor. Although I will praise Arnie for getting his build back, he really did get himself in gud shape especially for his age at that time. Originally Vin Diesel was going to play the TX against Arnie, but that Idea got scraped dont know y.

I think the new Predators movie and so many other action movies today prove that. Plus kick-ass babes in tight skimpy outfits r the thing wen it comes 2 action movies 2day, and I do agree with u there, Kritanna Loken is a extremely beautiful woman, I luv her figure in T3 lol.

@7Beltane Yeh, it was a guy called McG (sounds like a McDonalds lol), that did T SAL, and he'd directed Charlies Angles2 b4 that so I dont really know how that worked. Sal was pretty gud tho. Yeh, Ive only saw 1 other movie Kristanna did and that was a Vid-game adap called Blood Ranye, and honestly it was pretty standard. I'd like 2 see her in a real gud drama.

I agree with Cyrus. It could have been a really interesting new story to the T-World. But the dialogue was painfully basic and the writing was atrocious. Because of that, the action & effects were just struggling to keep me interested. I'm sorry but this film was a it let down for me. That's why i'm giving it a Low Rental.

I really don't see what is wrong with this movie, as so many others say. It added to the story, and to my recollection actually cleared up some issues with the storyline and plot from other films. The acting was a little sub-par, but like these guys said, the last third kicked so much ass, that the acting was forgiven. The only thing I disliked was Sam Worthington.

The trouble is, younger gen expect to walk in and do their own thing with it, and change it, and I think thats wrong. To the other generation obviously its okay, but to the creator of that subject its not. Arnold doesn't make a Terminator film good, just look at T3. Most people don't know James Cameron is the real reason Terminator is so awesome. James Cameron made the Terminator story and directed the first two films. He even made Arnold play as the Terminator and not Kyle Reese in the first film. Sure Arnold is cool but it seems like he gets all the credit for Terminator. Hollywood is just milking the cash cow now. This movie doesn't even look near like the future war in the previous movies.

they have done a few bad reviews but this movie was complete crap. i saw it first day only because of how much i liked the first 2. the story was just to obvious and it didnt have suspence. it was lacking Shwarzenegger who could be the only terminator and the acting on the new terminator was bland. i think lots of the other actors did a great job with what they had but they didnt have enough to make this movie even good.

You have to make him sound tough and Bale as we all know has a great voice (rough and tough). Also if Batman were fighting the terminators in 2018 he would be like a general or some shit like dat.

@TheNewRiflemanBob I think Christian Bale is an incredible actor and he did a great job with that voice. He did it in this to sound tense and intimidating, and it works. In the Dark Knight? It was brilliant! He did it to make Batman look and sound like a fearful beast, to make people scared of him. Besides, it's better than the bullshit in the Joel Schumacher films :P
