It's more than sad, it's disgusting. I worked in child/adolescent mental health where we had a 13 y/o female whose family immigrated from the middle east.  By the time we got her, every bone in her body had been broken at one time or other by male family members. In their eyes, she wasn't family, she was lower than a dog. Mother faired no better. I would've liked to do to them, what they did to her.
