User8571 is right. Most people don't know this but the Tremec T56 6 speed in there 98+ American muscle was built in Mexico. So quite a few 98+ muscle cars have a little import in them. Straight from south of the border lol. DSM are 100% made in America.

@Master7770 you're both right about DSM's being made in the USA, but im not sure how DSM ties to this video, seeing as Brent Rau's eclipse is not DSM, it is in fact an MMMA car (Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America) last of the DSM's were made in 95 (early 96 models were last of DSM) and Brents car is a '99. Mitsubishi took sole control after Chrysler sold out and renamed the company MMMA in 95, then MMMNA in 2002. =)

@bassplayer1274 I think the drag tires expand outward under high RPM, this causes the car to lift. They are like balloons so they can catch more surface area of the track and use the slicks more effectively.

Actually, I have seen rail cars with the 4g63 engine. So, yeah. Say all you want, but the numbers that these engines come up with are amazing. 1/4 mile time for Brent Rau is 6.94 seconds @ 198.47 MPH. The fastest I have ever been in my life is 186 on a r1. Just think he can do that in a car in under a 1/4 mile. If you don't give him props, or anyone props that can do that, then you have no respect for this hobby.

i think you might be confused by the exposed cam gears. i would say that the eclipse might be using the 4g63 but converted to rwheel drive for drag purposes, though i really dont know much about a conversion like that or 4g63's for that matter. but anyways, a 2jz has a very distinct sound. more of a bore than a scream? hahah thats how i would describe it.
