Sorry mate, the didjeridu in various forms existed well before we had anything to do with Australia or contact with the Australian Aborigines. No dordiseal have been found there only in northern france and ireland. It does archeologically predate the didge though, but then it is bronze so last a damn site longer thana bit of wood, oldest rock art depicting it pre-dates first contact too.
It is a wonderful instrument, in it;s many forms though :o)
Thank You For Posting; sounds like the tune he's performing is 'Children of the Grave', this musical instrument, so-named the 'Dordiseal', also confirms the British prisoners sentenced to Australia, beginning from 18 August 1786, passed this musical technology on the Aborigines.
Wow. It's really freaky when you think about this and other horned instruments used during some of the more violent, erie druidic rituals.

Unfortunately, the term 'Celtic" is completey inaccurate when describing the Dords of Ireland and Scotland.
They have been dated between 1500 and 500BC, well before the advent of identifiably 'Celtic' people and culture in what is now Scotland and Ireland.
It is more appropriate and respectful to term them 'Bronze-Age' or 'Pre-Celtic'.
On the other side of the planet, the Yirdaki (Didjeridu) is, according to traditional Yolngu custodians, dated to between 50,000 and 60,000 years old.
