Wait a minute. I've been an Earthbound fan since I was a pre-teen (currently 25) -- Is Ness' mom one of the heroes from the first Mother game or something? ;o

@DewdInTheNewd It's one of the most debated topics in the Mother fanbase. Some think Ninten and Ana from Mother 1 are Ness's parents. But since Ninten was 12 in the 80's and Ness was 13 in the 90's, it would be pretty far fetched. I'm not really sure how Ninten, Ana, Ness, Paula and Poo all had psychic powers since George was the only person to learn the powers in the early 1900's. It's possible he taught his closest friends how to use PSI and they were the ancestors of the kids.

Heh, one of the reasons I liked EarthBound was because it wasn't in rhe typical generic "anime" style.

That was unique for a Japanese game. It seems that they are getting more set in their ways though, and will probably continue with their everything-must-look-the-same Moe anime look. Something that different and creative will probably never come from japan again...

By the way, I did NOT use the strategy guide on that six-day session. It was thrown away or lost somehow, so I didn't really need it anyway. In fact, I used no strategy guides, not even GameFAQs or Cheat Code Central or NeoSeeker or whatever else exists on the Internet.

I bought the game and the bundled strategy guide back in 1995. Despite heeding to its suggestions, I could never complete the game (mainly due to schoolwork, but also because I became increasingly frustrated when I realize I left important items with Prince Poo when he branched off the team for a while).

Flash forward to June of 2011. I turned 20.5 years old, and I challenged myself to complete the game in a week.

I completed it in six days. The ending scenes made me cry manly tears. TwT

gigue heard the song he went crazy he lost his body, but his mind stayed in the devil's machine! thats how it is, and when he shows the face of ness, it doesn't mean FRIENDSHIP, he's mad at him because he thinks ness is NINTEND! so therefore he attacks, and says to go back because he fears they'll use the song of love :3 but instead , paula prayed, therefore driving him into insanity and sending him somewhere else.... the end? That's why, the game refrences an abortrion so much. Really look at the path before you meet Giygas: It's a vagina and cervix.
