Stephen King could turn thise video in to a terrifying film still use Duran Duran but the dancers are too old now get young actors and make them up like thise id go and see the film it be awsome
forget "thriller"..THIS was a true "music video as horror film/short movie" masterpiece! you say it's too much like "Mad Max"?...well,DUH!...it's still kick-ass!
They do not make videos like this anymore!! Duran Duarn knew how to make videos into a art form, that is not around anymore. This is a video classic that stand up to this day.
Don't forget all, Simon almost drown making this......the "windmill" got stuck with him in the water and almost killed him. Thanks for posting the long version!! First time ever seeing it! This is DEFANATELY my favorite DD song and Vid!!!
Ahhhh...my wild boys. I still remember clearly when this song came out and when I saw the video for the first time it was so totally cool. I still have Arena on tape...hehehe and have the book also in my memorablia collection over the years.
I`m very happy to grown up in the 80`s. I remember when this song came out (I still have the single at home). MANY THANKS FOR UPLOAD THE "MAXI-VERSION"!!! FIVE STARS!!!
I, for some reasons, am getting visions of the great movie Barbarella. And if any of you who are reading this do not know what those reasons are, then you should pay MUCH more attention. ;)
first time i've seen this version thanks for posting, John Taylor strapped to the car in leather mmmmm now my imagination is going into overdrive.....
1i was watching behind the music about them and during the video shoot that the windmill got stuck and simon face was in the water 4 a long time. thats what i remember.
Actually, that story is not true. Google the term "simon le bon windmill" the first search result is an interview where Simon Le Bon gets asked that very question and he says there was no such accident during the production of the video.
one of the dancers [the one with the black and white spiky hair] had a very bad accident he fell of the pyrimid thing their was no water in it at the time and he badly broke his ankle and was rushed to hospital and had to have sugary to repiar his leg
Close, but incorrect. I thought perhaps I had been wrong in my posting, but I confirmed the lyrics. I checked a reputable DD web site, as well as my personal copy of the Arena record.
I was looking for a phone ringer for this song since I have a couple of boys of my own now and thought it would be about right... then was sharing vids with my 13yr... reminder to mom - preview old faves in private first... especially THESE WILD BOYS!
This is the original video as it appeared on the ARENA video collection, which collection aired on HBO in its entirety in 1985. This was simply edited later to fit the 7" version.
Russel Mulcahy really knew how to cut a great music vid.
Actor at 5:24 that hands John Taylor object looks like same guy from end of Frankie Goes to Hollywood video for "Welcome to the Pleasuredome".

Urban legend. Simon's almost drowning occurred when his yacht ( named Drum) capsized. Look it up.

Truly one of the best videos of the 80s. Quite of a heavy Mad Max rip-off though but works terrificly well in my opinion.

I used this song in one of my audio tape presentation plays called "The Wankers" so fitting:
Wild boys never losing.
The figureheads of hell.
Yes very fitting indeed.
louisevale 4 years ago
I am afraid you have been mis-informed of the correct lyrics.
Wild Boys Never lose it
Now the figureheads have fell.
Those are the correct version of lyrics.
