That's exactly it. These christians are all completely convinced that they're right, even though there's no proof. The atheists are just as bad, they try to enforce that god doesn't exist, when again, they have no proof.
I agree with the idea that religion causes wars. However, if you look around, there are many similarities in most religions current and past, the most common being that the god/gods demand some kind of worship from us, their "subjects". Should we choose not to pay them worship, we get punished. Real or not, what makes these beings worthy of worship?

That would take too much work. By generalizing and asking about a creator instead of each individual incarnation of god, it covers most religions at once.
