I believe on the day of judgement, many who have hated homosexuals and thought they were going to hell, will see many of those homosexuals enter heaven before them.
"Adultery Pride Parades" aren't needed, because adultery is far more widespread than homosexuality, & far more widely accepted. To be consistent, Christians who oppose homosexuality should be equally vocal about the evils of adultery. But are they ? Why are there so few denunciations of straight paedophilia, & of spousal & child abuse in straight homes ? The Bible often denounces divorce - but (wonder of wonders !) the texts are often "explained away". Impression left: a bad one.
So, what should be our reaction to those who are so horribly worried about allowing homosexuals to live on par with heterosexuals? Two words: Ted Haggard. Those who scream the loudest have the most to hide.
I think it is correct to put groups like the one lead by "Porn Peter" (AKA Peter Labarbera) in the hate groups list. After all, AFTAH is openly calling for violence against Americans, someting that can only be compared with the works of Osama Bin Laden or any other extremist Islamic groups.
Anybody who doubts that there are and were strong links between African American civil rights and the gay movement should listen to the enemies of both of those people.
Those people hated 'ni99ers, fa99ots and Jews'
That's who they saw as their enemies, en masse. Martin Luther King's widow was an outspoken supporter of gay rights and confirmed that link.
He denounces violence, but through his lies and propaganda, Uganda is about to start a campaign of genocide. He and Scott Lively have pushed their false studies and lies there.
He also said he watched hundreds of hours of gay porn for “research”
People who claim gay discrimination is different to racial discrimination during the African-American civil rights movement are absolutely correct. The discrimination is different. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, or that it isn't as sinister.
Gay discrimination is much harder to see. It's a discrete discrimination, because most of the bigots don't like to stand up for their bigotry because it makes them look like assholes. Rightfully so.
It is different from racial discrimination in a number of salient ways, but certainly not removed from the Civil Rights Movement, which is what they also love to state: Bayard Rustin was at least as influential in the movement as Martin Luther King, arguably moreso, since it was Rustin who had contacts in the various sub cultures who were eventually galvanised to take part: King provided the vice and the face, Rustin the communal support. Rustin was an openly gay black man...
...who spoke candidly about his hope that the movement would also ensure rights for homosexuals as well as others facing profound discrimination at the type.
This homophobic bigot is using religion and tactics to do what other hate groups have done for years to label gays as immoral, pedophiles, and lie about gays trying to convert straight people into being gay which is totally laughable! He is a hate monger which also condemned in the Bible! This group of bigots came together because they can't stand gays finally getting rights they should have gotten like everybody else along time ago! The T should be changed to L for lies about homosexuality!
"Of course we denunce any violence towards homosexuals."
Oh no, we're much more subtle and sinister than that; we just foment and sustain the idiot misconceptions, prejudices and outright falsehoods concerning homosexuality that lead to violence. Disingenuous swine.
"We're not racist. We simply disagree with non white people."
"We're not misogynists; we're simply not comfortable with women."
I despise this kind of semantic song and dance more than anything else. I do wish they and those like them simply had the balls to say: "We hate fags." At least then we can take them on head to head, face to face without having to wade through the mire of bullshit they deliberately create.
You know, if the world's most influential world views which claim love as their foundation didn't explicitly encourage violence and intolerance towards 'sinners' maybe the world wouldn't be so fucked right up.

Peter La Barbera is clearly a sociopath. And, you'd have to guess from his obsessions with gays... gay.

How do you fight bullying? Give them role models by having young LGBT professional go into the schools.

Peter LaBarbera is obviously homo himself. You'd have to be to think about gays as much as he does

If Jesus were around today, he would side with the gays. He preferred the meek and oppressed.
