You missed the phonetic sounding name of the program it is NOT "op-h-crack". In english "ph" (as in physician) is pronounced as a F. Thus using the play on phonetics the program is not just straight crack but ---- "Off Crack"!

By the way phonetic also uses the "F" sound , look at up!

Ok so if i could really get some help that would be great. When it goes into the linux format it says no tables found. I actually had to go find the vista free folder and install it on the ophcrack. But after I install it nothing happens, I press crack and it just says waiting in the progress bar. no scanning happens. I really need to get these passwords. Any help would be great thanks. Its a Vista Home OS.

@ZioZone Yes. the "not found" bit means that the password was too good for the ophcrack to get. Ophcrack uses a brute force system to get passwords, meaning it just tries everything and eventually something works. unfortuanately, if it really did try EVERYTHING it would never finish, so it just trys a lot of stuff to see if it can make words and maybe add a few numbers. Many people use passwords that are too diffucult for the thing to crack. Sorry!

yo dude, I just used it and it works fine. The only difference is that the version I used started up a little different than yours but once it loaded it took me straight to the part where I had to choose a partition (in my case 1) and it found it in 2 minutes and 37 sec. Thanks

Boot the pc with cd inside, simple. and then a menu window came up for ophcrack. 15 minutes it showed the password. Thank you so much. You're a life saver, actually a money saver also. I burned XP also, cause I have XP & VISTA machines.

2.Restart your computer.

3. Quickly press Delete Button or F2 Button or F12 button, it depends on your motherboard.

4. Find BOOT tab, there select/change first boot device to CD ROM Drive.

5. Restart your system while cd in the cd rom, then it will bring the Ophcrack.
