  • Brings to mind when we used to sing at midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Too bad they switched out the chiors.

  • Wished you have sang the entire song! Beautiful voice! Thank you for sharing.

  • awesome! is this film available to the public?

  • WoW! Breathtaking...

  • Even more ironic that the godless lawyers Harvard produces would ban this bit of history from public school children.

  • @jeannedarc624 Um. They never banned the music or art or anything from any organized religion. In fact, most school Choirs sing all kinds of religous songs. They just made it so we're not all forced to pray during school. Which, to a child, is not only tedious but boring as well. Prayer is for our parents to teach us. How would you like it if your child was forced to pray to allah in school? You probably wouldn't enjoy it.

  • Ironic such beauty came from a school that now produces such godless pagans now.

  • This scene is incredibly moving!

  • NICE MIKE. your getting handy with the lights.

  • How many people know this song was composed by this man...amazing....

This is an absolutely beautiful song that in honor to Jesus every church should sing on Christmas eve...

  • Except for the fact the Puritans and the vast majority of the historical church believed in the Sole use of Singing the Psalms in the Corporate Worship of Jehovah. Puritans also rejected Christmas since it was not commanded in the Bible to practice the day and they saw paganism at the root of the day. As a Modern Puritan I see no problem singing such a song with a gathering of family in the home but I would rather die then have Christmas in the church or sing such songs in the church .

  • You can argue that point when sitting in Purgatory trying to pursuade St Peter to let you into eternal glory since you've shunned his Holy Church and the Incarnation of the Saviour on Earth!!!

  • @Molliepet

actually Praetorius wrote the harmonies and the original is from the Alte Catholische Geistliche Kirchengesäng (Köln, Germany: 1599)

  • were doing this song for band

  • What key is this arrangement in? It would fit my voice well.

  • gorgeous voice!! its really clear and pretty!
