  • Also the world's smallest napkins. :)

  • @LostandFoundTravel And that's a feat, for the small napkin battle rages in various corners throughout the world -- SE Asia and Eastern Europe among them.

  • @umarket I didn't know E. Europe was a contender. HA!

  • @LostandFoundTravel In fairness, maybe not the smallest (close), but certainly the thinnest.

  • nice video..what was she serving toward the end of the video?

  • @AirCanada014 Thank you. I don't recall the name off-hand, rice noodles and condiments, almost like a soup but not quite as broth-y.

  • i've been here i lived right next to ben thanh market

    for 7 years in vietnam

  • the good part is my family lives in vietnam market when were hungry u just go outside order then theyll bring dierectly to your house and when ur done theyll come back and take the bowls

  • @963510 I love this about street food and market food cultures. Food is always circulating and fresh!

  • PARECE IQUITOS PERU

  • Very nice video of the market. You know, I've never been inside of there yet. I've been living in Vietnam for over 2 years, and never been in there. I pass by it every tine I go to my firend's house on Calmette Street though. I really should stop in at least to check it out.

  • i don't know about you guys, but I married to a beautifull white girl and i do that for my country. lol

  • Vietnam is said to have many beautiful women. I was disappointed when I got there, I asked my mom and relatives. They all said that most of the good looking ones have been taken out of the country by marriage. Makes sense.... I do see hotter Viets in Australia, U.S, Canada and other European countries than I do in Vietnam. It's a shame, but what can you do about it?

  • Every country have some pretty women and lots of not-so. Vietnam is the same.

But I have to say you are wrong about the good looking ones have been taken out of the country by marriage. Most of the girl who need to have foreign marriage are of the poorer class, or maybe have less value (sorry - because of their look). Keep in mind that foreigners (or Vietnamese abroad) that need to go to Vietnam to "purchase" a marriage are not very "hot" in status at their own place.

    (cont)

  • Then how can we explain all these stories I've heard from people from all walks of life?

  • I can only say that stories are only partially truth. Lets say for example the stories about the Vietnam war's perspective from Vietnamese people of the North vs Vietnamese people abroad.

It is sad but true that a lot of Vnmese women are being victims of foreign marriage at a cheap price. However, the pretty Vnmese girls abroad are mostly born abroad, which mean better nutrition, better environment, and more makeup, so most of them are pretty. That doesn't mean pretty girl form Vn are exported.

  • Yes, this human trafficking is a huge problem. Do they actually kidnap and sell?

  • Yes, there are cases. But that happen in many Asian country.

I only feel disturbed that there are some cases where the parent sell their own daughters.

  • However, it is yet another sad truth that most (not all) the pretty girl in Vn now consider them "hot girl" and only go with the higher class, rich guys, strive for higher position. (Which again means they wouldn't go to America or the like just to work with hourly salary)

Well, and if you have chance to visit Vn once again, try going to the big bars and clubs in Saigon or Hanoi, I'm sure you'll not find any "ugly" girl there.

  • Oh, I'm not really a club, bar guy lol, thanks anyway.

  • re:anythingnew's what can you do about it? ... you can be less of a shallow asshole, for a start.

  • @anythingnew Lolz you go to Vietnam just look for beautiful girls , oh man there is no beauty live along with time, but look at deeply inside

  • I went to those markets everyday for 1 week. Awesome. I remember having my lemonade out of a plastic bag with a straw. lol

  • thats not lemonade its called nouc mia or sugar cane juice very very sweet so i guess you must of mistaken it for lemoade lol

  • Maybe I didn't make my comment clear. I had lemonade out of a plastic bag outside of Mi Son not had these markets. I've had the sugar cane juice as well.

  • OOO man i was in vietnam in the summer and this really makes me miss VIETNAM. i love this country.

  • Street food is always better than restaurants in Vietnam. General rule, the dirtier the restaurant, the better the food!

  • Not really Brucekivi, restaurants outside of Saigon are awesome! Try going to Vung Tau, and eat some great food there.

  • I like to try the little, "out of the way" places, away from the tourist areas. We went to a tiny little place in Ha Noi, about 3 or 4 stories high. It was packed. One floor is full, go to the next. Cramped little stolls by the table, no AC but they had the best Bun Cha Ha Noi ever. Also tried a little street cafe near my hotel, and a little shop just south of My Lai on highway 1 had some awesome grilled beef.

  • @brucekivi lol, i know, i ate a lot from the street when i was young. But as i get to be older, i do not dare to do so. My stomach is not as functional as it used to be. :D

  • @brucekivi

oh not really .. a better rule is if you see more people the better...

usally I stay away from lonely dirty food stall.. some of the best food are from viet kieu family own resturant in Saigon

  • @dinhscot Yes, I would have to agree with you there. Just be careful nd use common sense. But I still think some of the best food is found in some of the more "unknown" places.....and the Viet Kieu I know here all have excellent restaurants :)

  • @brucekivi you'd better to fuck off.

  • wow very nice

  • Very nice -street food and ready -eating market-food sometimes better than in restaurants .
