@Singerazboi100 I've never had a Jolokia, but I can tell you that they're 1 million (to 1 million 300,000) and Habanero is only 300,000 at the max. So it'd still be pretty hard to take it I imagine. Good luck if you try it though.

unless this person is highly acclimated to peppers he might not have gotten one grown properly to create maximum heat? He didn't react like other experienced folks have to really hot ones.

He should have chewed a lot longer before saying anything or continuing with the next bites though because the saliva will try to counter and chewing prepares the body for what's about to come on in.

it's not actually hot like in temperature but the capsicum compounds (the "hot" stuff) make the nerves activate just like it was flames or another high temperature item so it feels like heat.

I've read that the concentrated oil of peppers can be toxic in the unnaturally concentrated forms (I don't like sauces with extracts because I don't think they break down well).

Get more accurate info please. All peppers of the same type are not the same heat. Some peppers aren't the highest rating. Besides, the jalapeno is 2500 to 8000 SHU.

@ScrewedMuzik I eat spicy food and whole fresh peppers all the time... I grow habaneros of various breeds and jalapenos... Habaneros are usually the hottest, but every once in a while, I get a jalapeno that is ridiculously hot... probably almost as hot as the habaneros... so, be careful with jalas... they can take you by surprise.

(You can tell how hot a pepper is by the amount of white inside and on the cracks in their skin, btw... the more white, the hotter)
