  • hey tu nos llamaste idiotas que malo eres!!

    LOL

  • It really bugs me when people say 'british' accent. There is no such thing :P

There is english, irish, welsh, and scottish and then thousands of dialects, even a few different languages. It's like saying I have a european accent because I'm from england :P

  • @NetworkHuman

Ah, technically you may be right. But is there such thing as an American accent?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman yeh i guess not :) I suppose it's what you're used to. Like when I was a kid I couldn't tell the difference between black people (no homo) but as I hung out with a lot of indians I could differentiate between them.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman and yeh man our trains absolutely suck D:

  • @Gimmeaflakeman just being fussy again, but lager is pronounced larrr as in car. British language nazi at your service ;)

  • English food isn't amazing, but it's not bad.. and despite being in Asia for the last 14 months, most of the best Asian food I've ever had was back in the UK.

  • victor-san, are you in transit from Havwaii or southern calif.

  • @MargaritasAntesPorco

In transit? Huh? I'm not moving anywhere. I live in Japan.

  • wheres her cop hat?

  • Thumps up for England. Anyways we have some good food, nothing beats a good bread and butter puding unless you don't like rasons or sultarna's lol and before any one says any thing i care if some of my spelling might be wrong.

  • great video :)

  • spanish lover... psh... MEXICAN LOVER ... we're da best!

  • para los idiotas?...pero que tipo mas estupido este,m,ajajajaja

  • @monk1588

Si, este bideo es para usted.

This is Japanese for Morons. King of Morons at your service. Your other comment was too stupid. So I erased it for you. Please be angry. Idiota.

  • Spain is cool.

  • Service in Spain sucks, the siesta is not true. A siesta should be 15-20 minutes and never 2-3 hours. thats absurd. I dont know anybody that takes siestas btw.this girl

  • Thanks for this video. It was very interesting to get a Japanese person's perspective on what it is like when they are the gaijin. She seems like a nice person and I am glad she had a good time overall living in another nation.

  • interesting...is 2 years enough to get use to a different place? form me i don't think so :D

  • That was great info - a fun interview!

  • I love her diction.

  • Maybe i drink my ale wrong , but i like it room temperature , And the carbonic acid is less petruding. You can drink it faster and burp less ;)

  • Ale is usually warm but not always. The main difference between ale and lager is the types of yeast used for fermentation and the length of time in fermenting them so you end up with quite different kinds of beer.

  • In Australia, we have Promite, Vegemite and Marmite ;D

  • I hated the tube. It's really bad. The trains are very small, they go too fast (sounds good, but it can get very jumpy) and most importantly, most of the ticket machines don't accept notes!

  • yo kisiera ir a jpon un dia pienso terminar de graduarme de enfermeria me voy para E.U. pero desde ahora compre tres libros de hiragana.katakana y hablar japones no es facil pero ya estoy aprendiendo

  • I'm from London, I agree, I hate the trains they need to fix the trains! haha

  • Whoa, I'm from Valencia, and I agree with Ayako. Food here is pretty good, customer service sucks compared to Japan's and some people are just noisy idiots who discriminate others. Of course, not everyone's the same, there are nice people here too. Too bad Ayako left with a kinda bad impression ;_; I can't wait to move to Japan.

(Also, I don't even take siestas. Oh, and walking is strictly prohibited.)

  • :3 Gotta love that accent, sometimes she has this magnificent brittish words, and sometimes this cute forigner style

  • Comment removed

  • HER ACCENT! <3

  • Argentinians dont count?? LOL

  • The Australian "marmite" is Vegemite!

  • vegemite

  • she's nice

  • Loved the video. Great guest.

The way they yell in the Izakaya's (sp?) reminded me of the chain in the US "Waffle House", or "Omlette Shop". Also similar in that they have a bar where patrons can sit or booths. I wonder if the chain was started by someone who adopted that trend from Japan?

I liked her insight about the old buildings and culture. I like architecture as well. And not all Americans cities treasure their history. Orlando Florida tears down anything old.

  • @stilldexter2999 Yea, hear in Tampa the city is trying conservation and restoration efforts with central Ybor. During the construction of Interstate 4 most of it was demolished and it wasn't untill the early 1980s when Tampa started to conserve that historic neighborhood.

  • wow, I'm English and at times when I close my eyes she just sounds like she's English. That's awesome.

  • so cuteeee!!! kawaii !! 18:16 *-*

  • 6:00 - 6:22 "What did you like about Spain, that Japan doesn't have? You like the men. The men are very attractive I guess. No? Not really? Spanish men? Really? I thought they were famous for being--Spanish lovers. We have an expression: 'Italian lover; Spanish lover; Latin lover'. No?"

Lmfao, what a statement! Presumptuous, narcissistic, arrogant, homosexual, and racist much? (boasting, implying Japan has no attractive men & that all Japanese women automatically have a thing for white men) SMH

  • @BLUDDYknucklez From my understanding of his character, I don't think he meant to say that Japanese has a lack of attractive men compared to Spain. I think he just wanted to ask if she liked the men in Spain as they're sterotyped as being handsome and that there are only few Spanish male in Japan.

  • @ivansofun

Yes ,thank you. My comment had nothing to do with Japanese men. "Latin lovers" have a reputation. Man, you can't make an off-the-hand comment without everyone reading RACiSM into it. Jeez.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Well sometimes off-hand comments are more honest. If you really listen to what you said in that statement, you implied that Whites are superior, then you kept boasting about the greatness of your people, & then you kept pushing & insisting to her how great your people are, repeating the same things, and asking "really? no? really?" as if you were offended that she didn't agree with you or didn't say what you expected her to say (showing that u have preconceptions & u stereotype).

  • @BLUDDYknucklez

I'm not white. And sometimes an off the cuff comment is just an off the cuff comment. Not wasting any more time on you. The comments on your page show me all I need to know.

  • @BLUDDYknucklez ehmm agreed :S I don't like this guy, He kept interrupting her every time she said something >_<

  • @mlus16 Thanks :D He seems to have a bit of a superiority complex.

  • ありがとうございます、あやこさん!

This video took much longer to watch than I anticipated (had to pause it several times) but it was worth it! I'll also have to find that Family Guy episode...

  • ah very interesting!! Indeed spanish are very loud, people here in germany think that's charming but for me it's just annoying too.

Ayako has a nice british accent, I wish I had one too but those american series that I love to watch messed everything up.

  • I love hearing cultural views from other cultures (I think that makes sense?) 1 world! Thanks for the video Victor & Ayako-san!

  • Lager is cold and bubbly like champagne. Ale is flat and usually at room temperature but can be served cold.

  • Ale is good drink it allot

  • Victor I think the Spanish police wanted her phone number I would if I was a cop use my authority like Kartman from South Park. he he

  • Amazing! Spanish is quite annoying ;) I live right next to Spain, though i was never a big fan of the language. Nevertheless. Congratulations to her! She has amazing English Speaking skills.

  • Ayako is the living proof that Latin languages are difficult to learn:)

Grammar is so bloody difficult. It makes English easy to learn:)

    Everybody thinks I`m American haha

  • (part 3) northern Ireland. Alot of old stone cottages are this age where I live. The local churches are 600 years old, 300 and 200 years old, but there is a modern church built in the 80's, I believe it's baptist.

Many thanks for the video! I found it interesting to get a travellers point of view of Europe, more so England. London is very different than most of England. The culture and general lifestyle varies from region to region, even though the country is soo small.

    Keep up the great work

  • @aobbuddy

    Interesting stuff! Thanks!

  • (part 2) local ingredients. Water, hops, barley and yeast. Some ales are servd slightly warmer or colder. For example, a "pale ale" is a light ale designed to convert lager drinkers to real ale, as it is healthier than lager or beer. It is served colder to minimise the flavour and make the transition easier for the drinker. Real ale also is not sparkling, it is pumped by hand and not gas assisted. This in turn creates a truer flavour.

On a different note, my home is 300 years old (N. Ireland..

  • Hi, a few answers/comments on the video.

I worked in a real ale pub for a few years. The temperature of ale depends on the temperature of the cellar, it's usually colder than room temperature, around 10-13 degrees C. Lager is stuff like bud, miller, fosters, carlsberg..in japan it would be asahi etc.... And it is served cold as the flavour isn't as good. Larger uses alot of synthesised and poor quality ingredients as they are mass Market products. Real ale uses high quality, usually local.

  • English food is great if u have the money for an expensive place or u know where to go. I dont think we have anything worse than crappy food from any other country. And lager is cold here, Beer/Ale is traditionally room temperature, "warm" makes it sound like vomit lol, but a few years ago they started to do Ice cold Guinness and thats better than the normal one but older people prob disagree. Thx Victor and Ayako ^^

  • Lager is cold, Beer is warm :) but sometimes Bitter Ale is cold but only bitter i haven't really seen any other cold ales. I highly recommend you try Newcastle Brown Ale if you find it in some import store, it is from my hometown and it is amazing!!! drink it at room temp! lol

  • VEGEMITE haha MARMITES WAY BETTER

  • @lankyrunner6 yes, yes it is LOL

  • @lankyrunner6 I herd of them and seen them on the shelves here in California I think I'll buy both and try them out. allot of British and Australians live out here.

  • jajaja no sabia que hablabas español!!! , me muero por aprender japones jaja , asi podriamos vernos y hablar en los 3 idiomas :P

I didn´t knew you speak spanish! , I die to learn japanese jaja!

  • Your voice is so piercing vic...

  • @NodnarbRS

    Did it pierce your heart?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Lager is brewed at a colder temperature usually below 60 deg. Fahrenheit. The yeast usually sinks to the bottom or near the bottom of the fermentation container. Ale is brewed at a warmer temperature and the yeast floats to the top of the fermentation container. At what temperature one serves the finished beer does not make it a lager or ale. My friend is a professional brewer at a micro brewery in California and I have learned quite a bit about the brewing process over the years

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Dam you know 3 languages? you are beast G!

  • British, glad I read the comments because I didnt know what "lagger" is (LAR-ger) and I love my ales and I dont live in London but when I went I hated the tube too. Interesting video, Great accent

  • I like Ayako's accent.

  • It's called VEGEMITE! lol (^-^)v

  • any videos of ayako playing violin? id like to see

  • interesting video

  • im brasilian and sometimes i like to go to brasilian restaurant too

  • as aan english person it made me laugh so much when it was said that our indian is great, because we always have indian people slating it:P. Also the australian marmite is vegemite i think, my step dad is an aussie and he always brings it back when he visits or when his family visit us. It also made me luagh when she said school was cheap :L it's gonna cost me £9000 per year Also it's said lar-ger not lager

  • "They look like ducks"

    She's soooo cute!

  • very interesting.

Japanese people like to go to Japanese restaurants in other countries --> My adoptive parents who are Indian like to do the same thing in other countries.

  • vegimite and marmite are more or less the same thing from what the Aussies told me. x____x" It tastes horrible! It was like salt with the consistancy and look of peanut butter ^^; Real lively folks in Australia though! And New Zealand is a retirement paradise-- the most gorgeous scenery and so peaceful... The folks there were so very nice and polite too :3

Your guest was amazing! Thank you so much for bringing her on. Her accent is rather cute too ^-^

  • Haha Argentinians.

  • other then that I hope one day I will speak japanese as well as she speaks english,

plus hope secound reply from the video relates to me.

Thanks and I'll be watching. :)

  • In the last example, the pronoun me, together with the proper noun John, forms the object of the verb follow, so you need to use me rather than I.

Use the pronoun me, along with other objective pronouns such as us, him, her, you, and them, when the pronoun is the object of a preposition:

Rose spent the day with Jake and me.

Me, together with Jake, forms the object of the preposition with, so you need to use the pronoun me rather than the pronoun I.

  • @QIgorecki

That correction was actually an inside joke that only makes sense if you saw a video that even I cannot identify by name. (I've made too many!) But long story short, I shouldn't have corrected her.

  • use the pronoun I, along with other subjective pronouns such as we, he, she, you, and they, when the pronoun is the subject of a verb:

Clare and I are going for a coffee. In the last example, the pronoun I, together with the proper noun Clare, forms the subject of the sentence, so you need to use I rather than me.

Use the pronoun me, along with other objective pronouns such as us, him, her, you, and them, when the pronoun is the object of a verb:

The dog followed John and me to the door.

  • Nice interview.

I'mactually Polish but just one coment from oxford dictionery witch might help (sorry for spelling). please read those simple rules above so you dont say "police stoped my friend and I"

  • Yay, British accent :3

  • Thank you all for watching this video and your comments ;)

I hope I can do it again someday.

    Ayako

  • Lager is served cold, but Real Ale is served at cellar temperature. It's not really warm. Great interview Cheers Ayako!

  • Dunno if anyone has said but the Australian version of Marmite is Vegemite.. I think of it as soy sauce concentrate. It's just a big punch of salt + umami, so if you want to try some for the first time spread some unsalted butter on a piece of toast and scrape a tiny bit of marmite/vegemite on it.

  • Thank you for the video. Ayako is awesome.

  • O my goodness she has a awesome voice.

  • :D

  • ayako is really pretty ^-^

  • I remember that episode!

My grandma has lived in the US

since the 70's and cant speak a word in English

that also goes for most of my 1st Gen family

    PS:

I don't remember you ever speaking Spanish in one of your videos.

  • Victor likes family guy! My life is complete

Also the Australian spread is called Vegemite, I always hear foreigners hate it, but you only put it on VERY lightly. I love vegemite :)

  • Awesome vid!!! wow Ayako has an awesome accent its not just a British accent though! :O I like it!!! ^^ Thanks much for the vid Victor!!!

  • Hehe u can speak Spanish pretty well, and her English is great. She's so cute =]

  • Vegemite Victor!!! Want me to send you a jar?

  • Good video, thank you Ayako and Victor.

Would like to see more interview videos like this if you ever get the opportunity again.

  • she does have a very thick British accent!!!

haha I kinda wish I had a chance to talk like this with Victor now!^^

  • fuck you man

    no hard feelings

  • Comment removed

  • Funny, never heard a Japanese person speaking British english before, pretty cool :) Thanks for the interview Victor!

Ayako, don't worry about the hater, this is the internet it means nothing. Just laugh at him, and get on with your life.

  • i'm sure someone already told you, but it's "vegemite". :3

  • Message for her: Yes, I enjoyed! :3 And Vic didn't cut her off too often. (besides, it happens!)

I shall await her return when.... well, when she comes back!

  • That was a fun, entertaining video. I enoyed hearing her interesting comments. It seems she is another example of a strong, independent woman. Well done.

  • Chinese people in my country often greet my jap friends XD So some of them learned how to say "I'm not chinese"... in chinese. :P

  • Did she go to the language school called 'EF'?

  • Spain is awesome! because I'm from Spain

  • @ojedarob

Now there is a comment that makes sense!

  • that's a nice accent

  • Its nice to see a Japanese persons view on England =)

  • Victor, building work for the Tube is never scheduled on weekdays because a lot more people use the Tube during the week to go to work, rather than at the weekend when most people are just going out.

By the way, we pronounce 'lager' as 'larger' (in all parts of the UK) :P

  • im sory vic but if your call it lagger in the uk people will get annoyed at you okii so say it with we now : Lar-ger ~

  • The Australian version is Vegemite

  • Ale is at room temperature! All other beers/ciders/guiness are cold in the UK!

  • This reminds me of your buddy TheJapanChannelDcom's interviews ;-)!

  • Just the let you know the work that she is talking about on the subway is because of the terrorist attack that happened like 8 years ago.

  • She is awesome ! Great accent - The beer aint warm its just not cold.

  • Great interview! It's interesting to hear Ayako's experiences. The UK is a big melting pot of cultures these days, & the food is from all over the world, Chinese,Indian and Italian are really popular. In Europe 100 years isn't old for a building, I grew up in one that was 500 years old, and currently live in a normal terraced house that is around a 100. I wish Ayako all the best for her stay in the UK and love her cute accent! Marmite Rulez! & the troop of Japanese tourists, So True!

  • Thank you Ayako! It was interesting to listen to this, Victor! I love your videos! Keep it up! (〃^∇^)ノ

  • real ale is served at cellar temperature, which is a bit cooler than room termperature, like 55F. Larger is served a bit more chilled. I'm not sure about Guinness or bitter, both popular drinks in pubs.

btw Victor, look up how to pronounce larger. :-D

  • @InnocenceExperience ...and I'll look up how to spell it lol

    *lager

  • Comment removed

  • English food is not terrible Victor! its not the most fancy cuisine but its good to eat! Plus you can get everything in England. Within 5 minutes of my house there are three Indian restaurants, a Japanese restaurant, a Chinese takeaway, and three fast food places (fried chicken, pizza, burger type food). A couple of miles down the road is a mile long stretch of south Asian (Indian food) restaurants and takeaways. Manchester is crazy for food.

She speaks good English and she has a lovely accent.

  • @InnocenceExperience

LOL! I love how none of the restaurants you mentioned were English! LOL! Wait, were the fast food places English?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman no, the fast food I mentioned isn't English. (one of the fast food places is actually called the Canadian grill, although its not really Canadian either) I was giving examples to back up my statement that you can get everything in England ie whatever cuisine you want. Its all on offer.

There is also a fish and chip shop (chippie) and a pub restaurant which sells English food. Chips from a proper English 'chippie' simply can't be be beaten.

  • Comment removed

  • Haha... England is cute...! I appreciate your kindess, but come on... tell the truth :) And I agree with the tube stopping at the weekends - pain in the neck, huh? Not that the service is that great during the week either....

  • "My parents live in a super old building. Almost 100 years" 100 years isn't a lot. Generally in all of Europe 100 years is young. Personally I live in a house that's around 200+ years. Which is very normal. The US is a 'young' country.

The oldest countries in Europe would probably be (the countries in) Great Britain, Italy and France.

  • A great video and I would love to see more like this. She speaks English very well and I love her accent. Btw, have any of your other students approached you yet about a discount for continuing their studies with you?

  • Australians on the internet seem to be quite proud of vegemite :-D

  • I went to Japan on holydays and i really liked when people screamed "Irashaimase". We laughed a lot with my friend, remembering the time when 3 different people screamed it one after the other : "irashaimase", then another one "irashaimase", then someone we couldn't see, far away "IRASHAIMASE". This last one was very loud. I think it was the chef in his kitchen.

I don't know, i really felt welcome. That's why i like it . ... Plus it is funny.

  • lmfao the tube service here is shite excuse my japanese lol ive only taken the thing once, , imagine a tin pack full of sardines but with people on a train standing up with nowhere to move or sit down, plus its super noisy you can hear the rails screeching and everything!! i do not recommend!!!!!!!!

  • In regards to British beer; lager is meant to be cold, whether it be in a can, or from the tap at a bar. But ale is sort of down to personal preference. Most pubs keep it in the coolers and what not, but you can get them room temperature if the place you're at don't chill them. I've never had warm ale and i'm a UK resident, might just be the places in London lol.

  • she is cool. you should just have ayako and tomoko do their own shows..haha.

    interesting video

  • Thanks I really don't want to go to Spain now........

  • Very cool ;D I love her laugh! ;D

  • The difference between lager and ale is the brewing process. Lager is brewed at a cooler temperature than ale, and is generally left to ferment for a shorter period of time than ale, which is why ale generally tends to have a richer taste. Ale isn't really warm, per se, I'd say it's cool, while lager is cold.

  • Vegemite is the one you're looking for.

  • Vegamite

  • I was actually surprised to see how old things were in Japan. I had the image of Tokyo of being super-new, everything neon signed and everything...BUT I was kind of surprised to find that every second house is really old and almost falling onto the street.

For instance. There is a really old building on Asakusa Dori in Ueno that was leaning towards the street.

Search for Asakusa Dori on Google maps, face towards the east and check out the really small building on the right side a few yards in.

  • I really enjoyed this interview. Speaking as an English person, I love Japanese people and Japanese culture.

LOL your prounounciation of lager Victor - it is pronounced lahger.

  • HAH The way you say lager at the end is hilarious :D Ale is never "warm" as such, but not really cold either. It's served at room temperature, which isn't particularly warm in the UK. In fact, for beer it's even colder because ale isn't served at room temperature, as in, the temperature of the bar, but at the temperature in the unheated cellar which is even colder than that. Warm ale wouldn't be very nice.

  • @lokilaufeyarson I reacted to that as well, you put it better than i would.

  • Great interview!

  • How come we don't count man! Argentina is the best country in South Eur.. I mean, America.

  • Thanks Ayako!

  • When I've been in Japan last year, a Japanese woman encountered my mother, my sister and me with French. So I guess, not all Japanese think all foreigners are Americans. ;)

  • Fascinating Interview! Thanks Victor!

  • I don't drink beer so I've got no clue. :P

    interesting interview..

    Thanks. ^_^

  • @hdp26

LOL! Lot of pent up anger in there, son. If it makes you feel any better, I know people who have lived in the USA more than 20 years and still can't speak English and I know people in Japan who've been here longer than me and still can't speak Japanese. You know what? They get along fine. How does it feel to be so subjectively judgmental there, btw. You got a big righteous one?

  • @Gimmeaflakeman ...."and I know people in Japan who've been here longer than me and still can't speak Japanese" well from an alien isolated point of view is Hard to consider any of the statements pointed out in the video by this girl as valid due to the lack of judgment and integration over the 2 years she stayed in Valencia. Should i gently accept the laxitude of her almost insulting missconceptions over my country? Like 3 to 5 hours of siesta? that is crazy ignorance...whet if

    Perdedor.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman "How does it feel to be so subjectively judgmental there, btw" exactamente, subjetivo fue todo lo que dijo esta muchacha, falso simple, because it does not honour the truth, that is subjective and i can judge what i know, can you judge what you don't?

Here you has something far more objective that can be depicted and substantiated all across your videos, you are a loud mouth a failing swagger a gullible fool, and you got it all on tape! That is A truth.

  • @Gimmeaflakeman Sure it builds you litle ego not get whacked that often in Japan, but come saving the day when my reaction is perfectly normal. 'Cause i won't be the one doing those "professor emeritus" dissertations over a subject with such lack of understanding furthermore when they lead not only to fake but to an offensive description. And that it's judgment yours: "subjectively judgmental there, btw. You got a big righteous one?"

  • @hdp26

Wow! You left 2 more comments and neither make any sense. Are you drunk, man? Or insane?

  • @japaneseformorons feeling lazy already? many words together?? Come on you should get used to large compound-complex sentences. Despite some minor punctuation isues here and there, i think that if you are keen enough you can distill something out of the words i wrote.

  • @hdp26

Actually I honestly get nothing from your posts except that you are angry about something. And this anger has made you incoherent. Perhaps you should ask yourself what has made you so angry? Did a Japanese girl reject you? Did you recently suffer some unhappiness? Or, as I already mentioned, are you simply insane?

Or you could be trolling. But incoherent trolls are boring. if you're going to bring it, bitch, then bring it, but bring it coherently.

  • @hdp26 There are places in USA in those you can read advertisings such like: English spoken.
