I was thinkin about getting a ephiphone les paul 100 with either a line 6 spyder or a marshall amp. got the same:) only changed the alcino pickups by semour duncans ( there was a problem with delivery so they gave me an advantage to upgrade my guitar for a realy sweet price, so for 30 euros extra they were changed:) also i changed the switch knob and the tuners with gibson tuners:) this beast (even stock!) sounds like an traditional gibson sg 66 reissue! trust me!

set necks help with sustain... take an epiphone les paul for $160 and another epiphone les paul with a set neck and do a sustain test. the set neck will last 4-5 seconds longer before even thinking about beginning to let go just because the neck transfers sound to the body a million times more efficiently in the set neck. plus who wants a metal plate with screws on the back of their guitar??

If you have enough money to buy a Ibanez rg series guitar, buy it. Just about every rg out there blows everything Epiphone has to offer out off the water. But if you're thinking about buying a low-end ibanez, buy this one, cos it will a much better value all together.

An SG is a Les Paul.....do your homework. It became one in '61. Gibson stopped making the old style Les Pauls ( like Jimmy Pages uses) in 1960. In 1961 the new Les Paul, or "SG" was introduced. SG means solid guitar.

Look i own this guitar and as a matter of fact i own the pich black (goth vertion or whatever) the pickups on these guitars are preatty much suitable for all kind of hard rock metal whatso ever music especially if you conbine it with the right equipment...

i use a line 6 pod xt live and with that guitar it just lifts off... but i do find some setbacks on clean u know ballady type of playing beacase this guitar doesnt really do soft and emotional you know really cruncy pickups...
