Thanks, I knew there was one up there somewhere, I was told that there are also a couple of bomb craters on Kilner Bank as well, narrowly missing the old ICI plant.
@bugadif no it is not, during ww2 german & itialian POWs did municipal cleaning - this was the primary AA battery for Huddersfield - while it was of fair importance only 3 bombs landed on Hudds - but curiously the last V2 struck nearby Emley...The Luftwaffe used Blackmoorfoot res. as a forming-up landmark - that is within range of the heavy guns that were stationed here - grade 2 listed btw

@bugadif Damside the weir ASPLEY was one 1000lb bomb - did not explode - records indicate the black prince as the nearest landmark the the kilner bank bomb UXB mind u it was not so long ago they dug up munitions in a broadly similar location
apparently not, Blackmoorfoot res. was the forming-up point for raids on the North. If they had been dummy guns there would be no need for extensive rails & command posts
breezy up on top

I think this was the site of a WW2 prisoner of war camp, housing German & Italian prisoners of war.

I thought that this place housed dummy guns to convince the nazis we had defence up north.
