i thought it was something bigger, like a .500 magnum. I've shot a .44 magnum, and coming out of a 6 inch barrel heavy steel revolver, the recoil doesn't feel any worse than a Glock .40

He has both of his hands wrapped around the handle when he should have only had his trigger hand wrapped around the handle and pushing forward. He should've had his non-shooting hand with the back parrallel with the ground with the palm grasping the bottom of the shooting hand, pulling back on the bottom of the pistol. He needs to use the main part of his arm (like the elbow area) to absorb the shock instead of solely relying on his wrists. Lastly, put one foot in front of the other and lean in.

That way the recoil should raise your arms in a *hopefully* controlled manner, but only if you're doing everything else correctly.
Lock your elbows, lean as far back as you can while keeping your feet together and in front of you, make sure your support hand is on the gun for aesthetic purposes but don't actually support anything with it...OK, now you're ready to shoot the worlds strongest handgun.
