In case you missed it, junior, no elected official in Virginia has a higher approval rating than Jim Webb. Not to mention that they've trended Democratic since 2004. Mark Warner's election to the Senate was one of the easiest Democratic victories in the country. Jim Webb's not going anywhere. You are right that Allen probably would have won if he kept his mouth shut. Unfortuantely, Republicans have gotten so arrogant that they think they can do what Allen did and get away with it.

I just read the book. It should be read by all Americans regardless of political party, and required reading by all Senators and Congressmen and women. Should be also be read by all military officers and those future officers enrolled in our military academies.

It would be nice if all politicians showed this much humility. The Navy Cross is second only to the Medal of Honor. "...it's a combat award." Webb is a true Marine. Semper Fi.
