Oh it was funny that you mentioned foiling the wings, because part way thru my cook I noticed my wings were getting a little dark, so I put foil on them.
My wife brought home a 20lb turkey for me to cook on Thanksgiving. I couldn't believe it fit. I think it took 3.5 hours @ 350 degrees on mine. Anyways I enjoyed your video, thanks!
Great video, I love the well loved Weber! I've replaced my handle, a number of times. My bottom grill is "bowed", as well, all the bottom hole covers (ash removers) are gone, but it still cooks great!
Like others, I would have made a foil wall, to cover the wings and legs from the direct heat, from the coals. AND I would recommend putting already burning coals in, when doing the additions each hour. I've cooked turkeys before, and they are great. I smoke mine, sometimes, as well
Thanks, I was a little concerned my sister wanted me to do her turkey on the grill and when I saw it was 20lbs I was tad bit concerned. Now I'm little bit more assured it'll come out alright.
Great job and love the video, very detailed. However, I would have covered the bird in foil to keep it moist and juicy, then remove the foil to brown.

As for the wings, you could have tinfoil wrapped around the wings.

Safety first, please, so that nobody gets hurt. I hate to see a happy occasion turns into a tragedy.

Awesome anything is possible on a weber.

you can bank the coals to one side and rotate the turkey every hour or so is just as good or better.

Shouldn't the bricketts be pre-burned before adding?

@BADRONALD74 no they do not, I would add any charcoal that has fuel added.
