@checo898 In the late 70's early 80's before Edward Koch was mayor and Abraham Beame was - New York City suffered one of it's worse financial crises in it's history. The city was on the verge of bankruptcy and it is a well known fact among historians. I suggest you read up on it - or easily google the info - save your ignorance comment become self-reflexive.
@checo898 mid 70`s-`80...garbage strike, transit strike, cop strike, newspaper strike, blackout, beame the bum and pres Ford tells NYC to go to hell when city asks for money..yeah, i`d say that was the verge of bankruptcy...but it ushered in the `roaring `80s of nyc...cause thats how we do....until Bloomiani destroyed it to appeal to the masses...aint no historian..i wuz there..apparently u werent..cause ignorance is bliss...

But that's a go on that offer if we could make it happen. Let me no what's up. U right on living like that for years.
Oh, definitely he knew deep inside something was going down. Even ask me what would i do, that's exactly what i said leave the country and change my face if i had doe. Even i knew those cats were fucking blazing hot and something was going down. NO TALL TALES BEING TOLD HERE MONEY!! I ANTICAPATE THIS FILM GREATLY!! THE END!!!!!
I believe it was corky 172nd st. who made the connection between managment and lenny to make it happen. Deep inside they knew their days were numbered. Another night we were up in there lenny ask me what i was drinking which was Red Devils, so he ordered 100 red devils and had them on the bar for the crew &honey's passing by. That shit was funny!!!

Even when they rented out Disco 2000 for a night, Dame everybody was there. Hope you mention Ed AA R.I.P one of the first from 181st and Pinehurst Red top. Another brother that learned it from yayo the king of crack.
You mean Club 2000 right playa, located over by "crack box" aka Caporel's Fried Chicken (cheap & slammin, 24/7). A fellow hustla (not nearly as wealthy or feared) Unique, owned that spot. Had freak chicks giving dudes head on the stage for the entire club to see for a grip. I remember those Jheri Curls dudes too, they was getting money, but not like Red Top. I'm Black so I saw Alpo, AZ & Rich Porter way more, but some of my boys lived in the Heights & I saw some of these cats at times too.
This brings chills.. I havent seen those faces in many years!! Grew up with most of the cowboys and have mad stories!! I know what they did was wrong but when you know them, hung out, smoked weed with them and laughed in many occcasions you see them in a diferent light.. Its hard to explain. People who grew up in the hieghts know what im talking about!!

thats odd being that I was there in those days and I do not remember that taking place, especially knowing how cheap lenny was.
and I used to go to limelight all the time

No one is denying we're hard working citizens (and residents). The documentary touches on a segment of the population that struggled to make ends meet and/or was caught up in criminal activity due to political or economic situations...or just lacked guidance from a young age. This isn't specific to the Dominican culture. It happens to all cultures. Anyone inferring something close to what you mentioned - from a trailer of a documentary that hasn't been released yet - needs to get a grip.
