  • Probable origins in english clog dancing! take a look!

Many "hill-billies" can claim direct English descent!

  • @alanvt1 English and Irish... 8-)

  • That's the spirit. Just fantastic clogging

  • Every day I'm shuffling!

  • XDDDD I was there! LOL XD Every year I see that dude dancing, he certainly does deserve a Mountain Dew!

  • does anyone know the name of the song or the bands name?

  • Now that's how you get your hillbilly on :) YEEHAW!! Love me some Bluegrass!

  • SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE A GIF OF THE GUY IN THE BLUE SHIRT AND UPLOAD IT SOMEWHERE!!! LOL

  • BAAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

  • ich finds toll :)

  • lmbo looks like too much fun

  • btw our roots go back to the Ulster Scots and the Irish --- America needs to reread her history ......

  • Oh, if we all could just be ourselves. This man is. (pat on the back)

  • Wonder what would happen is a black person showed up.

  • @missmuggledetector They'd have fun, too. I've seen a few there having a good time.

  • @missmuggledetector f

for your info my daughter considers herself 100% hillbilly and her grandfather is from the phillipines! Pikeville had the first integrated cemetary in Ky. open your mind and quit buying into the prejudice called "regionalism" whereby you judge people based on where the live and come from!!!! Also this festival raises money for the shriner's children's hospital which provides free care to ALL children! Stop being prejudiced yourself!!!!

  • @butterfliesontoast11 Good Comment!

  • @butterfliesontoast11 i too am filipino and i consider myself a country girl because of how i was raised. :)

i am a clogger of 12 years now!!

  • @missmuggledetector that's right make a race comment ---

    everyone is welcome -- sheesh

  • @missmuggledetector I'm glad you asked that question. As Americans we really need to learn our fascinating history. The mountain culture represented here did not have the same burden of racism that the lowlands and coasts of the South had. Why? Different agricultural practices and a relatively classless structure characterized by very little slavery and no self-styled aristocracy. In fact there were areas of the Southern mountains that fought for the Union during the Civil War.

  • @latinflavor081 They will be treated with kindness of southern hospitality.

  • got to get some of them boots

  • And this is how Shuffle born.

  • The guy in the boots name is Dave . He's from near Louisville, Ky. and he is a very talented clogger. The festival is held in Pikeville, Ky.

  • Love watching country folk have fun! Im am born in the usa but my parents were born in the sierra which is the mountains of durango mexico! and the country mountain life is great!

  • is this in Pineville, KY?

  • The guy in the boots is brilliant, just love him

  • I swear this looks like an old friend of mine from the Florida Festivals.....his name was Lenny Hancock. I can't seem to locate his whereabouts these days. If that's not Lenny than this "Dave" has a twin brother that also "buck dances". Someone email me if you can verify.

    bluegrs@tampabay.rr.com

  • That's a heck of a rough case of restless legs syndrome that man has. He's good. Looks like his legs are being controlled by a remote control someplace.

  • This put a big smile on my face..THANKS!

  • Love this so much, that I just had to use a few seconds of it in my karaoke video. Gave you credit at the end; however, I should have asked first. May I continue to use? If not, I'll remove immediately.

  • this brought a smile to my face with a laugh behind it. i love this kind of stuff.cant get any funner than this(well maybe ridding on a motercycle to go do this) love it

  • I'm not sure why this would be hilarious. This traditional Appalachian dance is part of our culture. It's called flatfooting and clogging. My kids are taking clogging classes right now. Every weekend you can find a cabin full of good country people dancing it up to some wonderful bluegrass music :)

  • @susieraecollins Totally. It's not any more "hilarious" than tradition Irish dancing, just a little different. I guess to people who aren't used to it it could look a little funny. Make sure your kids keep taking lessons! It's a great fun way to get exercise and build a good character and work ethic.

  • I could watch this guy all day !!

  • I could watch this guy all day ;-[)

  • LOL, just noticed the two youngsters having a crack at it in the background. Wonderful.

Good tradition just goes on and on.

  • Isn't music and dancing great when they express a zest and joy for life.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Now that's my kind of dancing!

  • sorry that was suppossed to go to RLcummings

  • yea the man in the overals is sure gettin it. the lady in white is good, the taps is kinda distracting but, she is sure good too. I'm in Louisiana & unfortunately, we don't see true mtn. dancin' like this. what we see here is WAY too modern.

  • George Bush 3 days after leaving the White House.

  • good comment freerangepancake but please dont insult the dancer, we all in the UK know which one we would rather spend a night in the bar or honky tonk with, and it aint Dubbya

or whatever the twat calls himself. Banjodag (UK)

  • omg, that was awesome!

  • im from pikeville ive went every yrat ive ben born in 91..were the real hillbillies..not no WV people..just look were hillbilly days is at

  • 00:28 is the best!

  • That boy good!!!!

  • this is what the true Brits love about our American cousins, they have a real good time

and dont apologise for it , unlike us in the UK who have to in case we offend someone. Great film especially dungaree man, sure wish I could dance like that. Banjodag UK.

  • I'd like to be able to dance like that, too! Looks like fun! I just sit and watch.. two left feet here. lol I wanted to get up an try it.. but was afraid I'd make a fool of myself and someone would put it on youtube!! LMBO!

  • Thanks for the reply Laura7952. If you thought you'd make a fool of yourself you obviously had not consumed enough alcohol, its cheap enough at your end of the Atlantic

so you have no excuse. lol Banjodag

  • Laura I still watch this vid everyday , it just cheers me up. thanks, happy christmas

& prosperous and healthy new year to you and yours. banjodag (Mark)UK LOL

  • @Laura7952 I would so jump on that floor and go for it, even if I didn't even know what I was doing, LOL... Just because when the music starts playing, it is like an energy shot right through me...I love it and I live it... I'd say...you only live once...go for it, live it up and have fun in the process, LOL... ;-)

  • @tcolliton1969 I'm with you :-)

  • Well Banjodag they aint exactly shy

  • excellent, this is why the better quality brits love our American cousins. wish I could dance like dungaree man, what a cool dude. we like you ... banjodag uk.

  • WHAT's the name of that song????

  • Sorry.. I have no idea! lolol

  • Gave this video a 10!!! My name is Moose and I'm a clog dancing and foosball Champ from Colorado.

  • real cloggers do not "tap" dance though. In WV where the real hillbillies are, they just clog, and the hillbillynshoes they wear make a clogging noise when they dance. Actually, it sounds a lot better than the sharp tapping noise. I clog, and it is a lot of fun. Go to the Laretta Lynn Spring festival in Lanvier, KY ( near Paintsville, KY) and you will see real clogging.

  • Tha man I was focusing on wasn't wearing taps on his shoes. It was the woman in the white top and jeans with the noisy things on. Many that come to Pikeville Hillbilly Days to dance do wear taps tho. So maybe it's a territorial thing. I don't live there.. just go for the fun if I have the gas money to make the trip. Don't get so technical.. it's all in fun!

  • That's great!:)
