I agree with @noddyspuncture. No softsynth will sound exactly like a true analog circuit. But Arturia comes the closest. I'd rather have the Arturia in a MacBook on a gig, than carry around a real Minimoog, D3 Clavinet, Fender Suitcase Rhodes and B3 on all my gigs. But hey.... if you want realism, go ahead and have back spasms that go with it. And really, does anything analog sound like it does live once you plug it into a digital sound card and pipe the output into a DAW?
Man, I listened to this for 5:30 minutes.... before you actually played something from this "Minimoog" wannabe. I own 3 real Minimoogs... here you are showing us some computer based synth program that is wraped in a Minimoog *skin*.. it could be ANY skin... but they chose to give it Minimoog type controls laid out as such, even to the extent of Minimoog graphics... shucks! I can confirm however that this does NOT sound like any of my three original Minimoogs. Just doesn't do it justice, sorry..!
does anyone else see that it says Gearwire Synth lab: Moog music's minimoog is one of the all-time classic anal... haha until you push the drop down menu
What midi controller would you recommend to use with this? Obviously it'll have more or less keys than the minimoog, so what happens to the extra keys?
