So you ever heard of Cliff Hanger, thats a really crappy FMV game that just steels footage from one of the Lupin the 3td movies, and at the time the probably thought that, ah people in the US or europe will never know who lupin the 3rd is outside of japan, then its like lupin the 3rd actually does get translated and were like, hey we know who lupin the 3rd is now, did you really think we'd never find out you were lying to us?
Holy crap, I beat this game finally! Believe it or not, the ending is by far the most enjoyable section; it gives you an intense feeling, and it has the most variety; however, the very last sequence feels cheap and it took me a while to figure it out. Ah well, at least the ending does hint at a sequel... either a sequel, or it's just telling you "beat the game on hard mode now, wuss!"
Dude you are terrible at this game its all about memorizing the scenes and your also taking the hardest ways to get to the end its not easy but ive beaten it at least 5 times it's really used to be a fun game
@JayThrilla25 I agree, I am terrible at this game haha. To be honest, I'll admit I was a bit harsh on the game and overall frustrated with it. not many FMV games managed to do that with me.
I got this game today, and jesus christ, it's impossible! I mean, I got past the department store and got in some random guy's car... only to be returned to the same parts I completed! I ended up being sent back before the department, so, surely enough, I died. :/ 3 lives? No continues? Wow, I think I'm gonna puke; nice review, though! 5 stars! :D
God, I love how you're in the middle of a post-apocalyptic world with destroyed buildings, no people, and killer robots, and then, *bam!* you're in a freak'n department store! God, I love that game; I got to the train once, but that was it. How far did you get in it?
I actually beat this game once. i had it years ago. when i was a kid it was fucking impossible but after years of N64 and Gamecube I finally pulled out the CD-i again and played this game. Fucking owned this shit. WITH the shitty ass CD-i remote.
I feel those newspaper headlines at the game over screen really steel the show, theres a crappy animated portaid, & theres always somthing weird like. (Skateboarding wipeout, end of radical ride) or (rebal blasted, Tank crew celibrates) they couldnt have a picture of the situation but they could have the weird discroption with the crappy low rez picture? lol
You know, I don't really know. I should think any mouse could work. The input port is a standard PS/2 connector I believe, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.
Man i use to have memory of the time some our friends from church his wife used to work for phileps and the gave us
200 Cd i cd's. And the secod game we played was Escape from CyberCity. Boy this was when i was 6 yaers old and it was the time they came out with the big CDI
sysems. About that game well we played it ad sudenly i got scared of the game and every time they played my brother and sister would say we going to play Escape from CyberCity those were the days.
he he he love the intro to this game YOU MUST BLOW UP A PLANET!!! YOU ARE THE KEEPER OF THE FUTURE !!!! YOU ARE OUR ONLY HOPE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! but no pressure ok.. he h ehe he he. Sebastian great review dont expect new videos from me in sometime since i will be a way for 2 weeks and this is the last commnt to day... See you soon
PC-FX, don't hear that one much! I have to admit that I'm not to familiar with it. I think that compared to the CD-i the PC-FX was a lot more powerfull though. The CD-i was a pretty weak casing and most of the power came from the CD-i disc themselves which are structured differently then CD-ROM. The video quality (for which the CD-i needed the DV cart) can probbably compare pretty nicely though, it's the only thing the CD-i really excelled in compared to the competition.
Yup, the laserdic arcade game was called Freedom Fighter. I said that in the video too, but on the CD-i it's called Escape from CyberCity. I don't know why they changed the name.
No kidding. You know what's funny? During editting when I was working with the captured footage you can easily see times on clips and the one for that 'city tour' video which has the story is much longer then my game attempts. The intro takes longer then playing the game and going through 3 lives! That's just crazy.
I believe they did have permission. But that's more me rationalizing then actual fact heh. But you'd think that if they just used it you'd find something about it. It does seem weird that they cooked up a new story to go along with the images. It would make more sense to just use story arcs from the sourse I'd say... I can see this being very confusing for actual fans of Galaxy Express 999.
They'd have permission, a US company (I think called Silverstream) snapped up the Western rights to loads of anime shows and movies, so it could have gone through them.
There was a laser disc game called "Cliff Hanger" which used all it's footage from Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro.
The name of the company was Streamline Productions whose founder is better known for Roboteck and also did Captain Harlock and the Queen of a Thousand Years which mixed Captain Harlock and Queen Millennia together.
I should mention the Captain Harlock and Queen Millennia mixture makes NO sense. Unlike Robotech the stories are supposed to occur at the same time despite the two sides never meeting and a dumping of nearly half the Queen Millennia story line. Ugh it was a mess.
Thanks, and yes I know what game I'll do next, but more suggestions are always welcome off course.
Also, please keep it English in the comments where possible so that everyone can understand it. You may always message me in Dutch off course! Thanks!
this game is very easy if youve got a trackerball

@Edgefox88 Wow, to be honest, I never knew about Cliff Hanger, quite interesting! Thanks for mentioning that.

@Edgefox88 The footage of Lupin The 3rd was not stolen. TMS licensed the video for use in Cliff Hanger.

Question: Why does a planet entirely populated by robots need to have a daily newspaper printed for it?
Surely they'd have info like that downloaded to their brains or something.
ScrewAttackEurope 3 years ago
Hah, on that same note some of those clippings say 'last human'... what makes that the old guy at the beginning?
Anyway, it features a train then can ride off into space! I wasn't going to rationalize over it to much lol.

This game is only for people with mad skills and no free time... xD
But I guess it would be fun to own when you want to fuck with your friends. xD

Hah, that might actually be worth a try. You don't even need to make them drunk before they horribly suck at this game.
