that same bogging noise is what my 2 stroke jetski did when it let go.. checked over by a marina before i bought it, got a months use and one of the ziptied oil lines came off the carb.. 2 stroke with no oil... the rod was purple and blue, bearing gone, pistons scored, power valve hit the piston... i was going 60 and then bog....shutoff, wouldnt start... $800 in parts later its up and running again with all new parts... sucks and its a bad feeling when it happens

@mongoosebootrrider Its aluminium so it melts at a relatively low temperature for metals. And the whole thing didn't melt, just the excessive friction caused one side of the piston's surface to melt. Google "2 stroke piston diagnosis" if you want to see more about it.

honestly who cares what bike will beat the other? that only matters in a streight line, everything else comes down to the riders experience and skill. you can have the fastest bike in the world but if you dont know what your doing u loose. so piss on the brand name, grow up and go ride instead of trolling on what bike is better.. also i had this happen to me on my 83 ATC 250R, its air cooled and i rode it a little too hard for a little too long and thats it, its done, rebuild.

SUCK! mine waited untill i got way out from the trailer to eat part of the power valve and stuffed it thru the top of the piston. this caused it to melt the whole works. had to get a new jug from honda+ the rebuild kit.good winter project.

This is why you always re-jet to stock settings or RICHER for the dunes. You want the bike a little blubbery at WOT. You check this by doing a quick wot run and then check the spark plug. Should be a dark brown to black for the dunes. White or grey coloring on the plug will get you the results you see here. Remember fuel COOLS. You could always pull up the choke in a pinch.

i cant tell from the vid but was the piston moving when u would kick it? it was bogging and sounds like u seizied your lower crank rod bearing. same thing happend to my kawi...i had just got my first two stroke and i was waaaayyy over reving it....i heard that bogging and got a pit in my stomach. mine wouldnt even kick over.

@PissOnaMonk Yea, the piston was moving when i kicked it. It seized the piston and smeared aluminium over the ring, making the ring stick into the ring groove. It lost all its compression so thats why it was bogging and didnt start. I took it apart and found that the piston was still in good condition, so i unstuck the ring, sanded away the melted metal and rode the whole next day. im still running on the same piston today.

@MrJustinf1990 other way around man thats backwards, 4 strokes arent designed (at least not old ones) for constant high revs and two strokes are made to be pinned for as long as you want, thats how you get the power out of them, 4 strokes have low end power so theres no need to rev the piss outa it to get power
