What are yoy trying to prove? Are you trying to impress the farmers to buy the quality grains from you. They will continue too buy 5% to 10% sweet feed.
I am a big Allis Chalmers/Agco fan, glad to see all your equipment!
I am not an animal rights wacko, but pleased to see that you take good care of the cows that take good care of you. Great video, and a great job of dairy production.
A high producing dairy cow makes a total of 9 gallons a day (3 gallons x 3x/day).
Your $1 per gallon is a good guess. Right now, our farm is getting paid about $0.94 per gallon ($11.00 per hundred pounds on our check) in SW Wisconsin.
The cost of running those tractors and hiring labor throughout the year are below breakeven wholesale milk prices currently.
Yeah I know I was off but if you make say a certain amount of cows you could easily break into the profits and be rich but its not just like a snap you need barns land help etc--
i milk 750 cows in new zealand in a 60 rotary by myself.cows are fed grass in the paddock and we dont milk in winter.calve all cows in 6 weeks in spring.busy.very low cost compared to your sysem but very good returns
this will never compare to an outdoor grass based system for cow comfort.there is no way you can store the amount of effluent you produce without polluting ground water
still love those old allis chalmers my grandpa still farms with them just need a bigger allis then our 7000

imagine if they invented a cow that could harvest grass herself then you wouldnt have such ridiculous costs.

the parlour looks way to small for the amount of cows, but anyway gd insight into how americans farm and the sheer scale of what they do.
