Driftability, ugly is in the mind of the behover. Skyvan and subsequent versions were extremely versitile and funtional, just like 'it says on the tin'. I have to say this as my brother was on the design team!

Goldeagle1001, that is a strong comment. As already pointed out, being flat bottomed made the landing relatively easy without major damage and it was subsequently repaired and flew again.
Hi 'thinkwhaturdoing' - The aircraft landed on grass at Kidlington. As it has a 'flat bottomed' fuselage the damage was minimal, as far I could see. It had been doing parachute drops at a nearby airfield.
