In (fruity loops)It depends on what type of beat, feel, or sound i`m shooting for! Must of the time do very little effecting at more eq`ing! Each channel (sound) is examined to see if it needs any special treatment, then after i`m satisfied with the mix i add my own preset to the main channel (master).If Mastering a finished beat then i would add to the main out or sub master channel in mastering mode in cakewalk. Because it would obviously be mix-down to 1 stereo channel by then!
