Hello, these videos are for education & entertainment purposes. I have no need to plant nuggets when I have found thousands over the years. I forgot, that I have seen ads on TV, hear them on the Radio and see them on the Internet all day, but, I guess, it's because they are not trying to selling anything .... right? :)
i'm dying to go try this on vacation this year or next. can anyone give some advice on how to get map of the area...? i've heard of the brandshaw mtn area before, but any advice on equip & prep would be helpful. can't wait...cool vid
@MrAnthony78666 Hello, the best bet might be to join a local prospecting club in Arizona, such as the Roadrunners Prospecting Club or even the GPAA. They will have claim maps to all their claims within the State. There are a lot of books and publications, along with the Internet for research. The Bradshaw Mountain Range is huge, with gold being found all through it. That being said, a good portion of the gold bearing areas are under federal mineral claim(s).
@abureyad100 Hello, the average depth depends on the size of the target being detected. Larger targets, such as cans can be detected much deeper than smaller gold nuggets or say a coin. Overall average with a Minelab PI will be anywhere from the surface down to realistically 2 - 2 1/2 foot in depth. A big target can be heard deeper with a larger coil and the right settings. Hope this helped.

Isn't that 4500 pretty expensive? You'd have to be fairly well-off-to-do or a real dedicated prospector to buy this or the 5000. Most of us can only afford the GMT or Fisher.
Say, I was thinking of bringing along a metal detector for my trip to South America this spring, but I wonder first off if I can fit it in my luggage, if I will be allowed to bring it and lastly is it worth it cause it might get dammaged, unless they will let me bring it on as a carry on. I am in Canada and will be going to Peru area close to where mining is going on. I know a remote village where friends live and am thinking of prospecting there for fun! What would you advise? Thanks!
I went prospecting in the bush with a metal detector last month. I found something really big! It was wandering around for a couple of days and not getting anything, found an old tin can. After another couple of days the siren went off real loud and told me something metal was under the ground. I dug away the dirt and guess what I found at the of the hole - a buried metal detector!

hahah need alot more of those to pay off that detector.... where was this filmed ...i just convinced my dad to buy a whites gmt i think we walked this creek an pulled out probally 3/4 oz of gold in 6 nice little nuggets 2 of them were pretty big in only like not even 1 mile of the creek. lookin foward to finish it haah nice find
@snakeshite71 that sounds like a great idea! I dont have 4,500 bux for one of these hotrods though. Im hoping to get my income tax back and get a Eureaka Gold detector, from Minelab. Its about 1,000. When I get it, I think I will try your idea about the old shafts, or drifts, I think they are called.
have you ever tried sweeping the walls and ceilings in old gold mines? i heard that some guys are making a fortune buying up disused mines and detecting what the old miners missed
never detected with a minelab before. i own a whites MXT and use the smaller coil and it works like a charm!! with those two nuggets close together thats a great place to sweep down to bedrock and pan.
@kirbycutterkid depends, how good of a detector do you want? What kind of metal are you detecting/prospecting? $4500 for the GPX-4500. From what I've heard, but have no experience with it, is that the gold stalkers from coiltek are excellent. I've seen numerous videos on how good the coilteks are. But I'm no professional take what I say with a grain of salt, or a nugget of gold.
@lirioc4 about $4500 for the GPX-4500 not including a better coil like mentioned above the Coiltek 14"x9" Elliptical Gold Stalker, $330-380. Good luck :)
Hello Nevawake, All "All Metal" detectors, such as the Minelab PI's will find trash or iron rubbish. However, the advantage is you might find a bigger, deeper gold nugget and also the ability to work in some of the worst mineralized soil conditions unlike the VLF metal detectors.
You might want to give them another chance, all metal detectors will find trash if you're not using iron discrimation or masking.
last time i went metal detecting. I was out for 10 hours straight digging junk. After the day i chucked the minelab on the ground and wanted to scream!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!lol Sold the gp3500 on ebay for the next junk man.

What would you consider to be a wash? A low level area below a mountain range where lots of stone deposits have been washed down to possibly?

About a foot if not more...reports of going down near to 3 feet. Great detector.
FinalVestige 2 years ago
@Antonied90 I've heard reports of up to 3 feet, depending on the size of the nugget.

I had a target once with a lead shot AND a gold nugget in the same hole. Not sure what made me recheck the hole, but glad I did. Nice finds!
