AVOID; when buying online dont buy wigs that look really shiny they are usually crap look for a more matte looking wig. dont buy wigs that are super cheap a good wig ranges from $26-50 it might seem like a lot but it will last and look better then cheap wigs. Cosplayfu wigs tend to be really soft and dont fall apart

I used the sharpie method because the acrylic ink made the hair look rather fake and i was dying a wig for everyday use, the acrylic ink made it look shabby and too dull the sharpie made it just good enough, also u can use heat on fiber hair just use a curling iron and low heat, usually setting of 7 and 5 to highest 11, and plus ur wig came out nice :) also 70% works really well, also with sharpie never forget to wash out the residue , i should make a video on how i did all this too xD

I was wondering, if there is absolutely any way to turn a blonde wig white... even a paler platinum blonde will be fine... OR, do you know if temporary dye will work on a wig, cuz that stuff colors just about everything. (You shirt, your hands... and it takes twice as long to wash out as it says it does...)
@KougasGal101 temportry dye sucks balls, it rubs off, u'd be better off using the sharpie method without the alcohol, if u want it a paler blone or white, i'd bleach it, or use the alcohol but the bleach will get all the color out faster then the alcohol, i wouldn't use the ink cause it goesnt come out looking like real hair anymore, also maybe the problem with temp. dye is the fact u should wash it out to remove all residue but try the sharpie method its cheaper then the ink.

I will be cosplaying Rainbow Dash (my little pony.... shut up.) and her mane has specific portions that are different colors. I suppose it would work, but you may need to use a LOT of dye, and blonde is a nasty colour to try to make dye for in the first place. It depends on how natural you want it to look. Okay. So I saw this video a long time ago when I was looking around on how to dye my neon orange wig to a nice mellow brown-orange color. You know, the kind you see on actual people. So I followed this to the best of my ability...
...except I accidentally got Transparent Ink. So. After it dries, I think I'll try another 1 cup batch, because I don't think it changed much.

@ItsCorrineSoScream Although Manic Panic does have a tendency to stain everthing it touches... Synthetic fiber isn't human hair, so it might just all wash off.
well i'm dying my blonde wig indigo (with fw ink), and even when i attack it with the blowdryer, it keeps dripping ink all over the place. i can see the ink just sort of sliiiiide down the wig, leaving the top lighter than the bottom >:/ i was wondering if instead of using a spray bottle, i could just fill a bowel with this mix (a bowl i don't care about!) and sort of dunk the whole wig in it?

Okay. So I saw this video a long time ago when I was looking around on how to dye my neon orange wig to a nice mellow brown-orange color. You know, the kind you see on actual people. So I followed this to the best of my ability...
...except I accidentally got Transparent Ink. So. After it dries, I think I'll try another 1 cup batch, because I don't think it changed much.
So to all of you- MAKE SURE YOU DON'T ACCIDENTALLY GRAB TRANSPARENT INK. ._.;

@ItsCorrineSoScream Although Manic Panic does have a tendency to stain everthing it touches... Synthetic fiber isn't human hair, so it might just all wash off.

well i'm dying my blonde wig indigo (with fw ink), and even when i attack it with the blowdryer, it keeps dripping ink all over the place. i can see the ink just sort of sliiiiide down the wig, leaving the top lighter than the bottom >:/ i was wondering if instead of using a spray bottle, i could just fill a bowel with this mix (a bowl i don't care about!) and sort of dunk the whole wig in it?

I used this method a while bacck and it worked great but do you know how to get the dye out of the wig? Everyone's telling me alcohol in higher concentrate but I tried that to no avail. =/

Would FW acrylic Velvet Violet work for dying a platinum blonde wig, dark purple (Like Blair's from Soul Eater) or would I have to combine two colors together to get the desired color I want? Sorry, I know you've been asked thousand of question but i'd really like to know! :x

After you spray the wig should you rinse the wig while it's wet or wait for it to dry? :/

Just like smithmegan1...i'm trying to know if there's a special way to dye a back wig lighter...but looking at ur video at the end (the wig tips) u tell us that u can't dye a wig a lighter color if it's a dark color like black....*sigh* I'm trying to dye my short black wig into a brown wig for my Sora cosplay...if u can help...please reply! Ok, weird question, but if you have enough alcohol, could you just make the mix and soak the wig in a bucket or something? Or do you have to do the whole spraying thing no matter what?

i was wondering. if i did it in sharpie, and i was at the anime expo and say i rains (or got a little water in it)..will the sharpie bleed out? i dont wanna risk my cosplay costume getting covered in ink. (same goes for this method with the FW ink)

This might be already answered or a stupid question but can this be done with a wig that has already been styled with a gel/spray? or will this method just "f" it up? I have a perfect wig but its the wrong color. It's white and I need blonde. I want to try this but I dont want to ruin the wig because I dont have much time before the con >_>

would you recommend using this method to dye a wig if someone was going to wear it every day? i have alopecia(losin muh hair) and my mom ordered a wig for me, and the lady she called mustve been out of it or something because we asked for brown and she ordered some honey blonde color that looks really bad on me >.< and we cant get a refund and it was like 300$ so yeeeah..

this is great! i have a blonde wig that i need to dye dark red. i just have one question though. will a lot of dye rub off onto my clothes? i am going to wear it with a vest with a really high collar and i dont want the dye to mess up my vest.

Quick query about how much alcohol to use. I'm unfortunately from Scotland, and don't know how much a cup is, it seems to be in all sorts of American recipes and such! Looked online and it says it's half a pint, but it seemed much more in your video... Help? :) xxx

It's carrot orange, though, and I wanted to put some brown in it to look more like Mikuru. It's pretty long, so would I still just use 1 cup, and would it tint it enough to an orange-brown, or would I accidentally make it all-brown? D:

I have this red wig (if you got to ebay and type in "car girl auburn red wig" you can see it) and I really like it but I'm tired of the color, I want to dye it black or just dark enough to where it looks like a black wig with a red tint. Do you think that's possible or will it just look a little darker? Have you ever tried the sharpie method?
