I have learned the trick to this gel! I use this with my suave conditioner underneath and it works amazing! Yes, it takes forever and a day to dry but it looks nice as long as I dont touch it. Also, u CAN stretch wash and gos with this product. The second day, I simply wake up, spray it with water, and shake it and I come out with the prettiest tiny corkscrew curls. I have 4a/3c hair and I have gotten amazing compliments after using this gel. Oh yea! Shampoo with no sulfate shampoo for build up.

Since I am of the African American decent also, I use the gel and then cover my hair tightly w/ a scarf and sometimes use a blow dryer to lock it in. The hold stays in for about 2 days as long as the scarf doesnt fall off my head at night. This gel ROCKS
Try Smooth n' Shine Aloe Vera Gel I really like this product. Also try ECO Styler Olive Oil Gel - I have not tried it, but I have heard good things about it.
For natural hair, I prefer our Purple Rain gel, which is a MOISTURIZING gel, doesn't contain protein & STILL has a WONDERFUL hold. Messgae me & I'll send you some to do a video on... I know you'll LOVE IT!
Good Review. Im actually a guy and I use it for my fauxhawk. Im middle eastern and it works great. I prefer to put it on before I sleep and style in the morning though. since when i put it on right after the shower myhair tends to stick up too much. But still this gel has a great hold and is thick. In the morning it gives me good volume and can hold for two days for me. I love this shit, and its only like1. 99 for a small container.
@AmproGel how often do you suggest washing the hair after applying the gel twice a day? Also, I heard that protein is good for the hair. That has drawn me to this product in addition to the alcohol free ingredients=) Would you prefer the protein free gel??
I actually don't suggest using the gel twice a day. You should only have to apply it once between shampoo cycles. If you need it to 'regenerate', just add water. Protein is good for your hair, as long as you don't try & manipulate your hair lots while it's there. One shouldn't use any form of protein on your hair, outside of a conditioner you washout, if you like to comb/brush your hair a lot. Protein hardens. Combing/brushing it can cause breakage.
Good video. Just remember that if your hair is a different texture than another, then regardless of the product it will not look the same. We naturals need to accept our individual hair textures.

I'm familiar with the proclaim product, It's a Sally's brand, like a generic. The formulation isn't quite the same as our Clear Ice.
