  • Oh and yeah, the methanol content is VERY dangerous if you drink a lot of it at a go. I'd suggest building a carbonator.

  • I came here hoping to find how to build a carbonator, I was reaching for the mouse and then I heard the dubstep. Lady, you have nice boobs and good taste. Cheers.

  • is this possible with artificial sweeteners? i'm diabetic so sugar and fruits aren't great to have in any high quantity.

  • thats not soda thats ice tea with bubles.

  • Yeah, you forgot the part about Co2 and alcohol but only after 24 hours, not much alcohol to speak of. Nice chest though! :-D

  • Sooo it's nasty hipster beer?

  • Green tea is fucking disgusting... carbonating it just makes it worse. What is this hipster bullshit? I make my own soda all the time. Who the fuck puts green tea in soda? fucking gross

  • Have you ever heard about a SodaStream ?

  • 2:49 awkward!

  • Comment removed

  • u drank a sugary pop to make that. and you cant reuse a plastic bottle. XD

  • how many degrees celsius must the water be?

  • gonna try this during the holidays

  • all i half to say is Jesus Christ is awesome...

  • Whats the song??

  • I want to motorboat her knockers.

  • im going to try this!!!! what are some good recipes for it!

  • Damn it the eggs get me every time in the begining

  • What are the exact measurements for the tea (I think I saw 4 bags), the strawberries, and the honey?

    Thanks for posting. Great video!

  • Nice porn music for this.

  • dead yeast monsters

  • thispillsbury superstar just whipped up some jailhouse beer that even she couldnt choke down... FAIL

  • @Silenthawk98

    haha i thought the same.

  • Nice and healthy.

    Beck is also cute.

That last statement is just thrown in... :)

  • 00:13 yeah shes right welcome to the CRAP!!! video

  • she is butt ugly

  • U get special machines that u put a small bottle of co2 on the bottom and put ur drink in a container then it adds the co2 to it and u can do this for any waterbased liquid!!!!!!!!

  • yeah! what he said lol

  • am i able to use bakers yeast or do i have to use brewers yeast?

  • lawl love how she fails to mention yeast produces ethenol and methenol from suger. Thats not "soda" thats a one nasty hippi beer.

  • @Lokivoid the amount of ethanol produced in that bottle in a day would be so small that if you chug that whole bottle it wont even get you buzzed

  • @metalhead33

The ethenol is not the concern, its the methenol.

  • @Lokivoid yiest doesnt produce methanol, its only if what you're fermenting is high in pectin that an extermely small amount of methanol would be produced, otherwise all the wine you buy would contain methanol.

  • @Lokivoid um like 1% not that bad

  • @Lokivoid um like 0.5%

  • @Lokivoid Yep, I was just thinking the same thing... I bought a sodastream machine. It's much easier. I carbonate juice or soda syrup...

  • @Lokivoid I learned THAT the hard way.

  • Really enjoy your videos. You have a very charismatic screen presence.

  • wtf was that music bzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzz?

  • blah!

  • The Sucrose in honey converts to Fructose and Glucose. Glucose then converts to Ethanol (Drinking alcohol) and Carbondioxide. So yeah it is an Alcoholic drink.

  • this is much better for you because even though there is syrup in it already the amount is substantially better for you

  • Why don't you just make a syrup, and then add that to carbonated water? That's easy as pie! That's what coca-cola and pepsi, and dr pepper all do. That's real soda!

  • ha you know thats horrible just by watching her drink it.

  • pause at 3:05 her eyes look real scary

  • makes a good cocktail mixer....., if you would leave it for a month or so there would be no need to add alcohol, my homebrew is 15%vol after a month

  • what happened to your eye brows ho?

  • you coud use dryice to carbonate it but if you were to use to much it woud blow up

  • THATS AWESOME!

  • coca cola

  • Comment removed

  • remove the teabag-that's what she said!

  • nice

  • lol :P

  • yea use the wrong yeast or leave it long enough and uve got drunk kids

  • First of all.. Boil the water (And the flavorings if they are not sterile) because there are some bacteria that will flourish in a sweet, non oxygen state, and they *WILL* kill out the yeast, and will make you sick..

Second, please use "BREWERS" Yeast. Not instant yeast, or bread yeast.. The type of yeast will determine if you have alcohol in your drink. and at what level.. as the yeast dies when it either reaches a specific gravity of alcohol or when the sugar runs out.. Enjoy!

  • ok i found yeast at my grocery store, its active dry yeast, what type of yeast did she use?

  • bakers i think

  • awesome:D

  • i made mine! woot, waiting for the 24 hours to be up, all raspberry

  • that's a great idea.

  • if you are using something like crystal light powder instead of tea, do you still have to boil it?

  • can you get the yeast stuff at a local grocery store? or do i have to go to someplace like trader joes?

  • you can order it online (check the link in the desc.), or get it at a brewstore. I doubt your grocery or even trader joe's will have it.

  • @makemagazine bev-mo?

  • @ZZxeroZZ be careful -- the brewers yeast found at health food stores is all ready used stuff, a healthy supplement but dead for soda making purposes. #delayedadvice

  • @ZZxeroZZ yes you can use bakers yeast

  • you can also use dry ice to carbonate the soda

  • don't do that, the bottle might explode.

  • i used advice of my neighbour and used bakers yeast BUT i filled two 2 liter bottles to half and i opened cap just a little to realese some presure soryy for bad english

  • @makemagazine

thats y you dont close it. or you could do it in pot.

  • @makemagazine exactly :D

  • i love makeing my own beer and bourbon now i think ill give soft drink or "soda" a try just for something new

  • ahh random loud music owie

  • holy loud music, not good at 3 am, scared the hell out of me

  • u got new hair

  • Wicked Cool!! thanks and cheers from canada.

  • Not sure if you guys realize, but that yeast eats the sugar, and makes not only carbon dioxide. It also makes Alchahol. This is why wine and beer are alchaholic.

  • that is why you must let it sit for only 24 hours. any longer and you're drink will become alcoholic.

  • ya butyou would need it to ferment for months for there to be enough alcohol to have a noticible effect.

  • not for months.. you'd have noticable alcahol in 2 to 3 weeks. The beer my brother brews takes 4 weeks total. It usually starts reading alcahol content within the first week.

  • @Aakanaar omg thats what i said its the same way you make hard ginger ail

  • @Aakanaar the amount of ethanol produced in that bottle in a day would be so small that if you chug that whole bottle it wont even get you buzzed

  • @Aakanaar um like 0.5% alchahol

  • @Aakanaar I bet that stuff would knock you on your ass if you let it sit for a Month

  • @Aakanaar You know that you pretty much debunked your own logical statement by spelling "Alcohol" as Alchahol.

  • Anyone else thinking of that Simpsons episode?

"It's a little thick, but the price is right!"

  • i was thinking of homers secret soda recipe.

i forget it completley but it was like

    1. water

    2. flavor

    3. bubbles?

  • i used about the same yeast,2 1/2 cups of sugar, and a full gallon of water to make some carbonated sugar-water that i could add flavors too later, but one thing i realize is when i "burp" the bottle because it has too much pressure, the gasses that come out smell like the smell you get right after you puke, is this normal for plain un-scented yeast carbonated sugar-water??????? please respond anyone!!!!

  • that sounds about right, considering yeast has a particularly puke-ey smell.

  • I know iv made mead, rootbeer and several other things before, but none of them ever smelled like that that I can remember... Im not gonna pretend to be an expert or anything, but I dunno that I would trust that, so you may wanna set it aside until someone who does know can tell you. What I do know though is that for something you don't want to ferment its better to use about 1/8th to 1/16th tsp of yeast to the gallon... at least that's what works with rootbeer... lemme know if u figure it out

  • moonshine !!!!!!

  • Awesome short video - thanks!

  • Does the yeast effect the flavor of the soda?

  • if you let the yeast settle to the bottom of the bottle before pouring then you shouldn't be able to taste it

  • COULD YOU REMOVE YEAST OUT OF BOTTLE ?

  • Comment removed

  • need to work on sound balancing. You were very quiet, so i had the speakers turned up, then the music hits and it's blaring loud.

This was a neat video otherwise. Fun little project to do with kids!

  • poo water = coke

  • cool but it looks like poo water

  • This is really great. I'll have to try this some time. The only thing I worry about, though, is if people might be sensitive to yeast, like my roomie is.

Other than that, very informative. <3

  • Your music sounds like shit and it's louder than the voice so it can't be turned down.

  • water, sno-cone syrup and a seltzer bottle.

  • nice music

  • "lets "see" how it tastes" :P

  • Do you know what happens if ypu mix soda and citric acid??? I do because i am a wookie

  • isnt there already citric acid in soda?

  • you can also make pop with citric acid and baking soda

  • you have great videos but I don't like your new hair :(

  • soccia, ma quanto sei brutta figlia mia

  • the talk is too technical it doesn't feel like your making food lol

  • That was quite excellent. I make cider so I'm familiar with the process - have to hand it to you though - the combination of strawberries, ginger, and green tea in a sparkling beverage is sublime!

  • Oh cool, I've got rootbeer flavored liquid Stevia! I wonder if THAT would work.

  • You just made alcohol...

That's not soda! That's some sort of alcohol because, Yeast+Sugar= Carbon Dioxide and Alcohol!!! Not for kids...

  • lol thats exactly what I was thinking... anaerobic respiration win, craft magazine woman loss.

  • Yo, have you read the other comments on here? Sure, it makes a little alcohol (less than 1%), but it makes way more CO2. It's so slight after one day that there's no way the alcohol would be enough to do anything, even if you drank the whole bottle.

  • wow, just mix cherry juice with carbinated water, it will take you 2 seconds to make instead of 2 days

  • yeah but she said that this was a method to do it without any artificial ingredients

  • Your point being? Some of us don't really care...

  • i wasn't actually trying to make a point i just stated the point of the video

  • ah... my mistake... sorry :(

  • your making alcohol not soda you use dry ice to make it carbonated all your doing is telling people how to make alcohol not soda

  • Using Yeast, it takes a lot longer to actually make enough actually make enough alcohol to make you even SLIGHTLY drunk. It takes LIGHT beers from 1-5 weeks for beer to have an alcoholic effect on you, and that's for LIGHT beers.

  • Light beers don't have less alcohol, they have less Calories....

  • dude they dont have less calories their taste is just not so strong o you could say "lighter" therefrom you say light beer ;)

  • I looked it up, Apparently light beer does mean less alcohol in european countries. But obviously means less calories here in the united states. Light is almost always a term that means at least 1/3 fewer calories. I am not quite sure how this applies to some light beer brands which don't seem to sell a normal (non light) version.

  • Only "light beers" in 1-5 weeks? You can make extremely strong beer in 3 weeks, and it's dependent on the amount of sugar if i'm not mistaken.

  • Then is't my bad I guess light has different meaning depending on the country here in Mexico light means less flavor but same alcohol and calories

  • but it takes longer for it to make enough alcohol

  • optimum temperature for yeast to work at is about 40ºC (not sure about in ºF)

  • dont forget that when yeast eats sugar it not only makes co2 but it also makes alcohol

  • its cool thnks il chek that...

  • you can make the same thing with water kefir grains rather than yeast. avoids the yeast lees at the bottom, and the yeasty taste.

  • thats cool

  • y wait all that time to get a crappy product, when u can just get your favorite juice and some seltzer water and mix them for a better tasting drink

  • this is epic thanks!

  • The music is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too loud.

  • yesss voice too soft and music suddenly gets explosively loud. inconsistent. shocked

  • :D Nice im gonna try this ...when i find out what the ingredient "yeast" is in norwegian ;)

  • its the thing you add to bread to make it rise(its mainly used in beer too)

  • If you add enough sugar/honey/fermentables to make it taste sweet then you better be sure it stayscold after 24 hours or KA-BOOM. If it warms back up, fermentation will continue until all of the sugars have been converted to co2 and alcohol. If the co2 can't escape you got yourself a nice bottle bomb. Why not promote alcoholism!? rubber band some plastic wrap over the top to vent co2, leave it at room temp for a week or so and let that baby turn into mead-pop :) mmmm.. hey it's sugar free ~

  • SO COOL ...

But im waay to damn lazy for this.

  • well said

  • woot bootleg soda

  • love the new hair :P

  • i dont normally like the craft videos, but this one was pretty cool.

  • it's true !

  • I love this video, thanks for sharing!

  • could i use bakers yeast

  • No, it has too much flavor (bread soda = yuck). Go to your local homebrew store or look for some online.

  • cool i might try that once

  • Thanks, this was pretty helpfull.

i have an urge to try this one out soon :D

  • More of a chemistry class than home economics...

O and i tried it with mango and it was pretty sweet.

  • contents of bottle = more pricey than soda

    production = more effort

    time to make = ridiculious!

    shop soda wins!

  • this isnt for being practical. it is for fun. she never said "you will save so much time and money" this project is for the fun of making things and experimentinng with flavors.

  • its fun and healthier

  • Never hurt to make your own flavoured soda.

    Chicken soup soda...yummy.

  • that sounds goooood

  • soda on the supermarket = 100% artificial

this have been done with natural ingredients

  • mmm, artificial! :3

  • excellent but putting boiling hot water in to a plastic jug a specially an older one will make the toxins leach in to the beverage its really toxic to do google it.

  • I let the mixture cool before putting it in the soda bottle. I guess you could say the same thing for the plastic pitcher I'm using, but it's much higher-grade plastic. Use glass if you're worried!

  • yes actually i was talking about the pitcher ( in australia we call it a jug) any ways thanks for replying

please do check it out as if your in to health you might find this very interesting you can just google search bpa in plastic or the helth effects of bpa ( which is the harmful and toxic substance found most plastic that dosnt say other wise in our kitchen) or wikipidia search it under Bisphenol A

    hope you take care.

    x

  • it's not really a health threat. I'll keep drinking out of plastic anyway, thank you very much.

  • wouldnt that put alchohol into ur drink ??

  • no u need to let it ferment for it to be alchoholic. there are videos on outube for homemade wine that r similar to this.

  • WOW.... that was pretty simple now that I've had a chance to watch it all the way. Keep up the good work and don't let the uneducated twits that troll YouTube keep ya down!

*wonders if he can make a Red Vine flavoured soda...*

  • I'm sure you can!

  • is there another instead of yest, to make the soda carbonate or carbonated watever.. :L)

  • kinda funny, I've made wine for almost 10 years now, and thats really all she made, only differance being she's keeping the gass in the bottal and I let it out through a air lock, and I ferment for 1-3 months not jsut 24 hours, maybe I should mak an instructional vidio on it? And pure, in the wine making comunity strawberrys are well knows for there 'ulgy' aperance once ferminted, I'm sure it tastes fine... assuming you like green tea.

  • but couldnt che let it sit without the one way valve and it would fermen to alchoholic. just curios. there was a video on making wine i saw and the used a mason jar with holes in the lid and a baloon over the lid.

  • too many ignorant people. looks good.. can't wait to try it!

  • sorry but i dont want anything living in my soda....

  • Dude are you just stupid there are bacteria which are living in everything

  • then dont drink it, cuz theres bacteria in everything

  • What about anything dead. A certain percentage of dead mater .i.e (rat, Cockroach ) is aloud in soda drinks you buy.

  • To Lastking9:

What? Everything you eat or drink is alive

The sugar in normal pop feeds the bacteria in your mouth on your teeth

Milk cheese the hamburger you ate that's all alive or has bacteria in it.

    you sir fail,

epic win on the pop yummy

  • Sodas these days have too much sugar and artificial flavors? Damn nigga that shit needs more of it soda is a goddamn drug Coke/ Moster / Energy drinks in general got that shit right!

  • i think its a good idea. This way you can make whatever flavors you want, and the alcohol just adds a little fun!

  • What I want to say is - AWESOME MUSIC!

  • First: why not using a SodaStream that will only take 2-3 minutes to make instead of more than a day?

second: there will be ethanol (aka alcohol) in it as soon as you pour the jeast into the drink (or how ever it is spelled)

Third: wtf? you cant even drink all of it becouse of the jeast at the bottom of the bottle!

  • what the hell?????? why ruin soft dri
