Race has nothing to do with traditional Anime in fact, most of the main characters in em these days are white. The creator of AS is a full blooded Japanese native and that show is just as traditional as Kenshin -.-

NO. bad! whenever they try to elongate a series like this it's for the profit that it generates, (and samurai champloo would generate a lot, i'm sure) but they always screw it up. ultimately it would be a disjointed series that doesn't even feel like the orignal, filled with plot holes and crappy filler episodes.

@desliedianne Jun Seba is the real name of Nujabes, an extremely talented hip-hop producer that produced most of the soundtrack for Samurai Champloo. Unfortunately, he died a while ago in a traffic accident. I'd definitely suggest listening to more of his music if you like the music in Samurai Champloo, particularly the songs Luv(sic) Parts 1-4.

Actually that's something that I like about it! The fact that it isn't traditional, it's different & to a degree, innovative! Sometimes I get tired of what I normally see in an anime, but Afro Samurai brought forth something outta the ordinary! But I will admit, Rurouni Kenshin & Samurai Champloo do top it!

@J0nny152 Bout to say the same thing. The great thing about Samurai Champloo is that it told it's story. Good stories have ends (or at least a decent cliffhanging point), whether we like it or not. I personally was really fond of the premise of Bleach, but dragging it on forever, past the point where the story was clearly meant to end is what killed it for me. Samurai Champloo may have been short, but it was certainly a great series that told it's story well.
