  • This CHOON got me addicted to house music at the age of 9 years old!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thumbs up if Pick of the Pops (Radio 2) brought you here? I'd forgotten all about this hit..OOOWWW!!!

  • props on the vid...like a fellini movie on acid...

  • @btinsley1 That is original dance footage from 30's etc I don't think it was just made up for this video - but fits perfectly.

  • all this old stuff freaks me out!

  • @faklempt1 Are you a pubescent ?

  • This is heaven! I need to write a track and call it Hip Hop killed the House.

There is a bit of a classic revival though. Kikumoto Allstars, the 2 Bears, some Hercules and Love Affair & that Danzel track from a few years back. Sadly house never caused the smiley revolution in America like it did in the UK. House never took off outside New York and Chicago until it fell into the crafty house imperialist hands of the British. I now live in Florida, here it seems like it skipped straight to techno.

  • omg! tsong is old as mold...

  • Just proves from that video that 'breakdancing' was invented in the 1920's.

  • Wow, with actual cocaine in cocacola and all of the drugs that was used to treat illnesses, there is no wonder why every one is so Jacked up back in the 20's.

Yes i agree the music need to go back to the feel good vibe that it had in the 80's.

  • This is the S***!

  • it isn't dated. It has a huge amount to teach "modern" rap people about how to be interesting with rhythm.

  • nice old house

  • the vast majority of todays dance music is utter shite..with only a few exceptions...this stuff spawned a generation that will never be seen again.Go in any club nowadays in any town and its full of wannabe look at me bellends.

I agree, but check out Kowton. It's the real deal.

  • @chaddychadster

  • @chaddychadster You're full of shit. You just don't know where to look. All music was poorly produced before a certain time even if a million bucks was spent on the album.

  • You live in America?? And I'm the one full of shit hahaha.Thats a ringing endoresment if Ive ever heard one.Biggest gobshites on the fucking planet.

  • @chaddychadster you have old ears and cannot register good music. Good music wasn't in your time. I bet you dream in black and white too xD

  • @chaddychadster what utter bullshit dance music has never been in finer shape. You're just getting old pal!

  • damn!!! if there was an afterlife itd be all about this!!! 4ever !!!!

  • OMG !!! WTF ?!?!

  • Makes Dancing with the Stars look like a seniors ball. "Jack Your Body" blew me away the first time I heard it in 1986 at the Garage. Larry played it and I thought to myself sounds like we have a change of the guard on the tables and we did; House had arrived in NYC.

  • House gets better with age, specially with all the trash music we got now, at least I can listen to this and smile.

  • kiking tune so many mems der

  • is this original mix which was in UK Charts many years ago?

  • this makes me wish I was alive when House was just kicking in...

  • i was 16 years old, have a lot of original singles. had play them on the turntables in the 80s.in the FLAMINGO Club Zürich Switzerland.

thinking about to start some remember partys

  • @banani196 Do it and I'll bring my shhh over from the States... I started spining in '86 so I have much of this already.

  • Had to watch this again..

Just wanted to say - what a funny video haha :D And one of the reasons why this song is so good: it's because it's easy and not aggressive or something like today songs. Vocal is sooo relaxing i cant get it out of my head haha :D

JACK JACK JACK JACK JACK JACK YOUR BODYYY :D

  • If I wanted to write letter to God it would sound like this:

    Dear God,

Can you, please, return me to 80's to enjoy these house classics. And give me some money so I can travel to UK to listen their electronic music aswell.

    Signed: 15-year-old :o

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Truly the classics! I'm only 15, but apart from today house music, I LOVE house music from 80's (especially Chicago and Detroit one) :)

Silk, Marshall J., Knuckles and Hardy.. ahh...

  • @mirzaremix Cool but do you people have to write that on every video ? Our gen likes to enjoy our stuff without that, you know ?

  • My 1st house record!

  • Brilliant, remember bopping to this......Filled the floor....

  • OMG!! I remember this mix! Thx for the post!! Chi-town represent!!!! Steve Silk Hurley,Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, and Lil Louis...just to name a few

  • FOR U LEE

  • These tunes were the originals that all modern gen Y artists are copying!! My kids laugh at me when i play these 'old' tunes... how little they know about great music!!

  • The shivers run down the spine...

  • never can be outdated ...if u truly love house music ..video or no video ...this is part of the roots of what all great house music comes from today ...

i have the record from back then for a reason ...luv it

  • My Soul Tryna Jump Out My Body & JACK (Jack Was Before Juke lmmfao)

  • This is one of the Best Classics of House Music . And if you don't think so . I have two words for you Suck It .

  • As good now as it was then.... still sounds class

  • does anyone where i can download some classic house music like this

  • @MrGtdex

A site called Libble - it's a private site, but sometimes they have open days.

    * From what i have heard, they have loads of acid house there.

  • this is a true classic.

  • AWESOME...chicago house!!!! classic and top ten for sure!!! thanks!!!

  • This is the root of all Chicago house. In '86, I remember people leaving it at the store after listening to it. Little did they know that it was the future of club music.

  • i can listen to this song every time so awesome

  • AWESOME. Then and Now.

  • MERAVIGLIOSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • top top top choon ,,,the beginning in my eyes

  • wii wang ;(

  • fantastic, hard to keep still with this playing, nice one!!

  • house partys rocked back in the day...goin on 15years old then..but this still knocks me of my sofa shaking my booty 22 years later..<3 <3. LOVEIT!!!!

  • can someone help me? I've been looking for this classic house tune for a long time now.

The chorus goes something like 'this is my house, my house is your house, and in this house we only play house music'

Please send me original mix not remixes please and name & title. Thanks

  • @lurdab81

Try this: The break boys-my house is your house...

released in 1991!!! I think this is the original!!!

  • @lurdab81 Not asking for much are you? ;0)

  • Fingers Inc - Can You Feel It

  • @lurdab81 hmm there are so many tracks like that. I feel like I know what one you're talking about. House of God has stuff kind of like that but it's darker, that's Erick E. I think.

  • @lurdab81 Fingers Inc - Can you feel it

  • ok.. t his is a weird video

  • I suspect that the use of old footage is because- aside from being in the sampling spirit (*) and also a good choice for making visuals for "faceless" dance music- is also that it was out of copyright, since up until then house music and the like wasn't in the big-seller (and big-budget video) league.

(*) Though listening to this, it isn't really sample-oriented, well apart from the "vocal", which I assume wasn't taken from elsewhere.

  • Same as below - song was number one on the 27/01/1987!

  • number 1 in the uk when i was born

  • Old Skool n Good Times :)
