Yes, Americas Army is way more realistic than most FPS. You can't say that CoD 4 is better than Americas army, neither that A*A is better than CoD 4, they differ in genre, style, engine, public, goal etc. I sitll pick A*A over CoD 4 cause I preffer the more realistic game style, and don't crucify me, CoD is a great game too.

anyone who played the original version of this knows that this is one of the most innovative games on any platform as well as one of the few RTS's that actually plays just as well on the console as a PC. I would highly recommend that anyone who is even remotly intrigued by this trailer should check out the demo. you might be suprised...

I'm glad you admit to CoD and Galo's failure. They are top selling for this time, not necessarily those two either. However I believe in simulators, and this IS simulator. This game, by the way, is not just an airplane game. But damn does it make a hell of a fun and REALISTIC shooter. It actually calculates the damage to an airplane based on where you hit it, whether it be engine to fuel to cockpit. This is realistic. Oh and, ever play Ace Combat? Best damn modern jet fighter sim out there.

Absolutely not, as realistic as it may be it isn't real. However, you still implied that CoD shows real war scenarios, which isn't even an opinion at that point, it's a known fact that CoD is one of the most unrealistic games ever published and distributed.

As unrealistic as it may be i.e. getting shot in the chest doesnt kill you ect. but still, there is real life situations in it. Limited they may be but there is still some in there. Undeniably, its all run and gun and little tactics but some elements are quite realistic.

Yes, getting shot in the chest DOES kill you. Three of my father's fellow Marines died in Vietnam from a low caliber pistol round to the chest. In fact, your chest is where you are most vulnerable, besides your head. And no, there are no realistic battle scenarios in it, small forces like the S.A.S. could never hold off without annihilation from hundreds of enemies. Or the final part of the mission you attempt to assassinate the faction leader in the 90's. Don't defend CoD's sad case.

As a matter of fact, some of the guns are unrealistic. Such as the .50 Cal, which is highly inaccurate in the game. Or the M-16 when paired up with the M-4 (both of which fire the 5.56 round), and the M-16 is still more powerful. The RPG-7 Fires warheads that travel at near 360fps and do NOT curve. The ACOG scopes do nothing to demote the gun in range when used in real life. And finally, every handgun in the game has an accuracy range (in real life) of about 50 meters, NOT an entire map.

Yea I agree, the M16 is far to powerful and the pistols are abit to accurate over a long distance but still, there are elements like the AC-130u spectre gunship and the Javelin that are still realistic.

Oh yea, the Desert Eagle fires a large calibre round such as the .44 and the .50 AE, so it would fire and still be accurate for up to at least 150 yards, and still depending on the length of the barrel, you would get more damage. In CoD its 6"

The RPG-7 on CoD 4 is shit. No other 2 ways about it.

Yes the AC-130 is an accurate representation, along with the javelin. However, both of which are not online, which is all CoD 4 is about now.
