  • that was really awesome!

  • Michael Granberry did some great work! Sadly I have not read the book, but the animation looks great!

  • u get a Fu@&!ng "A" for not just the animation, but for the very creepy feel (mentioned above) it had to it! i enjoyed watching it & would like to see more lovecraft done by mr. granberry. keep up the friggen good work

  • NOPE

  • Oh no, He wasn't insane, He just got a terrible gift after that nightmare,,

  • This was supremely creepy!

The only things I didn't like were the fact we saw what was standing behind the protagonist and the amiguous ending that implied he was insane.

Still creepy as heel, incredibly atmospheric and fantastic for a stop-motion!

  • My laptop froze just as he said "I'm standing right behin-". If I was a more superstitious person, I would take that as a sign to stop watching.

  • Better than the movie.

  • There are things I rather not see..... lol.

  • last time this guy is gonna watch tv.. lol

  • awesome.............

  • Great work. It kind of reminded me of the sand worms from Beetlejuice.

  • Awesome.

  • Excellent film! Short, sweet and to the point! All the elements work brilliantly together to bring about the atmosphere of H.P. Lovecraft's works! Keep up the great work Michael Granberry!!!!

  • Brilliant! *****

  • i smell like cheese wiz and apple sauce, good job

  • is it me or does the protagonist look like Jeffrey combs?

I wonder if that was a conscious choice by the artist or just a coincidence?

  • @booley I think it's a hint at "From Beyond", the movie in wich Jeffrey Combs played in 1986 about that Lovecraft novel... Bad movie if you ask me.

  • @Sigolfur that's what iw as wondering. if this was influenced by the movie.

And I actually liked From Beyond.

  • Excellent adaptation...

  • Great short! I was really impressed with your camera work.

  • Great short! I was really impressed with your camera work.

  • nice

  • 3 people prefer Twilight

  • seens these things my self..good tuff man

  • what did you use in making this film a "camera" or a "video cam" or else?

  • it's a bit laggy, but, somehow it fits completly with the short.

  • I stumbled upon this movie while searching around the internet for a "Weird Movie" to watch, little did I know how weird it was going to be. I freaking loved it. "From Beyond" and "Altered States" have been the two gems found recently. As far as this clip, FREAKING LOVED IT. Great Job to Michael Granberry!

  • Great take on From Beyond. Amazing work!

  • Thank you for remaining so true to Lovecraft's spirit. That gave me as many goosebumps as the original story.

  • Psychedelic Horror! I liiiiike it!

  • Man that scared the shit out of me way more than the movie!!!

  • This is really good. I can't stop watching it.

  • Aw man you almost made me pee myself

  • A thousand times better than the movie. I'm not kidding.

  • Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for uploading- 'very glad to see this one again

  • i like how the claymation charactor looks like Jeffrey Combs from the movie

I notice how it reminded me of a movie i'd seen as a kid but i couldn't remember the name and it's "From Beyond" ...duh..LOL

  • This is sooo good!!

  • Totally ... freaking creepy XD!

  • WTF!!!

Gosh!! dude this is so fucking cool!!

Scary but awsome I love ur work!!

    keep it up man !

  • Loved this! This gets a thumbs up & favorite.

  • Very nice. With all the CG technology they keep stuffing into horror films nowadays, I think claymation/stop motion is still one of the creepiest effects; the final scene from Evil Dead comes to mind.

  • Hey dude I giving you from 5 stars 6. Keep it up ! I holding up for ya bro.

  • Wet, gross and genuinely creepy. Yep, that's good Lovecraft!

  • This has always been one of my favorite short stories....I liked this interpretation. My fave line has always been "It's right behind...your left shoulder......"

  • This Is Amazing!!!!!!!!! Make More!

  • Awesome, man i just readimg this piece of art last week .

    From Mexcio with madness...

    Cthulhu f'taghn

  • this is just fucking amazing!!!!! man you're awesome , please make more!!!

  • I thought this was as entertaining as the movie.

  • I'd love to see these people make more animated H.P.L. tales. A series is in order.

  • This is just...lovely!

  • David firths animations are way better, but this was gripping

  • HP lovecraft is the Bommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmb

  • epic, thanks for posting it on /x/, I may have never found it otherwise.

  • Loved it. Brilliantly executed in the most Lovecraftian of fashions, particularly the ending. Thanks for sharing Granberry's short with us.

  • It is a very nice Lovecraftian twist at the end where we think that this man has gone to see this scientist but then we see the truth written on the door.

  • H.P LOVECRAFT FOREVER!!!

  • This was very well done! Thanks for posting it.

  • IED LOVE TO SEE MORE OF THIS SHIT

  • this is so good i work in CG and a big fan of lovecraft

  • robot n twilight zone put together lol

  • the animation scares me a bit but its is a horror/wierd fiction story 5/5

  • My friend you have every right to be proud and cocky about your work. This is an absolutely amazing and beautiful creation! Well done! Really faithful to the great writer and the weird claymation movement, adds to the creepy feeling as well. 5 stars !
