  • i love the line "between heaven and hell i call it human"

  • her voice and these words. true art did live on . this was amazing

  • her level of emotion is so perfect here

  • Thats' the difference between the north and south. Northerners have such an advantage because they are exposed to so much more and their education sysytems is far ahead of ours. It's true art up there..thats why i hate it down here.

  • @99Reneez If children in the south had such an outlet they would be just as inspirational. The question is how are we leveling the playing field as oppose to dreaming that the grass is greener on the other side

  • @99Reneez I used to live up north & i was shocked when i moved to SC & they didn't have slams at school. So i went to my teacher & got Friday Poetry started. Then i went to my principal & asked him about it when i was a senior. We started having them two Fridays a month & he says they'll continue them from now on. So if you want a poetry outlet or artistry outlet then you should probably start small like in you classroom or wherever then move it on to something slightly bigger. Just a suggestion

  • I love this girl's voice.

  • Love't u have talent

  • beautiful. i love her work!

  • THIS IS ONE OF MY MENTORS YOU GO GIRLLL

  • hey.. we did wOrkshOps tOgether.. she's great!

  • It was the final six. And it was Ceez, Kiara, Carvens, Tia, Giselle, and Jorge.

  • who made the final 3 @ the urban word finals

  • I seen her yesterday at the 2009 Urban word Finals at the apollo theater she did great but didnt make the final 3...it was poppin

  • wow. like artistvillage, the first word that came to my mind was "outstanding". That was absolutely beautiful. I've done some public speaking myself and speaking from experience, it's so difficult [for me] letting go of yaself in front of people. I'm very proud of you! -Diamond AKA L3EriK@l

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!

  • wow. i wasnt expeting that. the poem was hot and her voice blew me away. she got the MC Lyte jpint goin on. nice nice. she was MADE to do this

    Good Job=)

  • That's my dawg!!!!! MC Lyte Blue!

  • omgi remember her damn she doe got hella good

  • the poets make something beautiful out of the ugliness in the stories they tell...as artists it's their job...are you listening to the poem???...respect the poetry. they put their heart into this...this poet is amazing.

  • You people are a bunch of idiots. First of all, I am 100% white and I find Urban Poetry really enlightening. It isn't rap, nor is it textbook poetry. It is called SPOKEN WORD, or Urban Poetry. It evokes emotion, and really allows black people to show the world that they are indeed intelligent and productive people. I'd rather see black people make it on the stage doing this then rapping about "drugs and ho's".

  • @xxyourscenesucks. i love your username. <3

  • @Booklvr777 haha thanks! :)

  • @xxyourscenesucks.how old re u

  • ooohhh wrong comment... oops

I meant to write that this poem is amazing and beautiful and intensly deep. These poets truly have a gift that really can touch others. I have been touched.

  • ohmygosh fool

  • u peolple are so stupid and ignorant! do u realize there wouldnt be rap without poetry? its a poem, poetry is for expessing urself ANY WAY YOU WANT, stay in skool u fuc* tards rap stands for retards attempting poetry you mofos

  • Repeating the word "like" does not make a rant/rap a poem.

  • While she speaks her reality, some of you ignorant motherfuckers see it as negativity. This negativity, this image that is so wrong that comes from her lips and others at 08 Urban Word is Life. One that you obviously have never seen and can only hear of because of your Lavish upbringing. You decide to put our poets(Rappers because it has a rhyme scheme!?) down. CD2M Wrote: Keep your crackhead ideals to yourself. Oh yea the word nigger doesn't hurt. Cause I know my Niggas got me.

  • this is rap not poetry

  • whats your reality?

  • "crack and drugs" is an ugly reality for millions of people in the US. somebody has to talk about it. but if you listened to more spoken word you would understand that the poets speak on more subjects than such. but if you don't like it then don't watch it and complain about moments of your life that you chose to spend watching this.

  • Good stuff. I hope she won the event! Better than the rest for sure

  • alot of big words.....

  • u suck

  • i meant the fool called her n....r

  • You need to keep ur hate to urself, nobody wants to hear about it.

  • this was better then the featured one. her voice might have sounded whiny but i think it expressed the emotion the poem had a whole lot better.

  • She sounds a bit like Rza from Wutang. Listen to Rza-Ode to O ren Ishii.

  • words are more than how they sound, the greater meaning overstands any of that... speak on sister, speak on...

  • thats what It do

  • She's unfortunatly a little winey when she talks.

  • much better than the featured vid.

  • so over dramatic like they are desperate for attention

  • visit ebtwilight

  • Instanzmethode reset()

  • Overdramatic and overexaggerated?

  • It's delivery. That's half the battle of spoken word

  • why do these ppl all have to talk so over dramatically? she sounds like shes crying

  • it gives the poem its structure and meaning thats why it sounds soo good

  • the drama doesnt give the peom structure and meaning idiot, drama makes it dramatic, i bet u think ur smart watching youtube poetry but this comment has proved that wrong

  • That's poetry.

  • Poetry is meant to be emotional, that emotion varies from person to person but it should be said with with feeling like she does...it's the power of her voice and feelings that give birth to her words and their meaning. =)

  • Thats a great way of putting it

  • Thanks. =)

  • It's a performance

the movements and the tone of voice

    give the words their body

it brings the poem to life.

    btw good poem

makes me miss speech and debate

  • I'm glad it made you uncomfortable. That's the whole fucking point.

  • becuase shes expressing herself dickhead

  • maybe she is on the inside? Sounds like it flowed right over ya head

  • that was deep...deeply beautiful!

  • "she can never blow a job she never had" smh BLUE!
